Podlasie Biala Podlaska fought back to earn a 1-1 draw with Wislanie Jaskowice in Poland Liga 3 on 17 October 2026, as substitute Kamil Nowak struck late to cancel out Bartosz Kowalczyk’s first-half opener. The 20:30 kick-off produced an absorbing contest in which Wislanie’s organisation was matched by Podlasie’s persistence.

Match overview

Wislanie Jaskowice took the lead in the 18th minute and then defended it with discipline, dropping into a compact block and inviting Podlasie Biala Podlaska to break them down. The home side dominated possession for long spells but found clear chances hard to come by against a well-drilled back line.

As the second half progressed, Podlasie increased the tempo and pushed more players into the attacking third. Their patience was finally rewarded in the 84th minute when Nowak finished off a flowing move, ensuring the home side took a point from a game they had largely controlled after the interval.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Kowalczyk gave Wislanie the lead with a glancing near-post header from a corner, catching Podlasie’s defence flat-footed.
• 42nd minute: Podlasie’s best chance of the first half came from a low cross, but the effort was blocked in the six-yard box.
• 71st minute: Wislanie goalkeeper Adrian Lis made a strong save to deny a close-range header and preserve the visitors’ lead.
• 84th minute: Nowak equalised with a first-time finish after Michal Zielinski’s cross was only half-cleared.
• 90+2 minutes: Podlasie survived a late Wislanie counter, with a last-ditch block preventing a dramatic winner.

Tactical story

Wislanie Jaskowice set up in a disciplined 4-4-2, keeping their lines close together and forcing Podlasie wide. Their plan was clear: defend the central areas, concede possession in harmless zones, and threaten from set pieces and quick transitions. The opening goal came directly from that approach, and for long periods it looked as though it might be enough.

Podlasie Biala Podlaska built patiently through midfield but were initially too slow in the final third. The introduction of Nowak gave them a more direct presence in the box, and Zielinski’s willingness to attack the byline stretched Wislanie’s defence. The equaliser came from exactly that combination, and Podlasie finished the stronger side without finding a winner.

Standout players

Nowak changed the game after coming off the bench, offering movement and a finishing touch that Podlasie had lacked earlier. Zielinski was a constant outlet on the flank, while Lis impressed for Wislanie with several important saves. Kowalczyk’s header was the highlight of the visitors’ attacking display, and his defensive work at set pieces also helped Wislanie survive long spells of pressure.

Table and season impact

The draw keeps both sides in the competitive middle section of the Poland Liga 3 standings, with each team able to take something from the performance. Podlasie will be pleased with their response after conceding first, but they may feel two points slipped away given their second-half control. Wislanie, meanwhile, will value the resilience of their defensive structure, even if the late equaliser left them frustrated. The result adds another tight chapter to the league’s battle for consistency.
