Wigry Suwałki secured a valuable 2-0 away victory over Mazovia Mińsk Mazowiecki in Poland's Liga 3 on Saturday evening. Two second-half goals were enough to see off a spirited Mazovia side, sending Wigry up to third in the table.

Match Overview

The first half was a cagey affair, with Mazovia enjoying more possession but failing to create clear chances. Wigry sat deep and looked to hit on the break. The deadlock was broken on 58 minutes when Wigry's Kacper Adamek finished off a swift counter-attacking move. Mazovia pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but they were caught out again on 79 minutes, with Bartosz Bielak doubling the lead from a corner. The home side's frustration was evident as they picked up three yellow cards in the final 15 minutes.

Key Moments

• 58' – Kacper Adamek opens the scoring for Wigry Suwałki.
• 79' – Bartosz Bielak heads in the second from a corner.

Tactical Story

Mazovia lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and dictated the tempo early on, but they lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Wigry's 4-4-2 mid-block proved effective, denying space between the lines and forcing Mazovia into hopeful crosses. Wigry's ability to transition quickly from defence to attack was the key to their victory, with both goals coming from rapid breaks. Mazovia's manager will be concerned about his side's inability to break down a well-organised defence.

Standout Players

Kacper Adamek (Wigry Suwałki) – Scored the crucial opening goal and led the line with intelligence. Bartosz Bielak (Wigry Suwałki) – The centre-back was a rock at the back and added a goal from a set-piece. Marek Nowak (Mazovia Mińsk Mazowiecki) – The midfielder tried to drive his team forward but was often isolated.

Season Impact

Wigry Suwałki move up to third in Liga 3, keeping pace with the promotion contenders. Mazovia Mińsk Mazowiecki remain in mid-table, but this home defeat will dent their confidence. The Polish third tier is proving highly competitive, and both sides will need to find consistency to achieve their goals.
