Lechia Tomaszow Mazowiecki 1-2 Polonia Lidzbark: Late Goal Settles Poland Liga 3 Contest

Polonia Lidzbark left Lechia Tomaszow Mazowiecki with a 2-1 victory in Poland Liga 3 on October 3, 2026, turning a one-goal deficit into a valuable away win. The match, played under the Saturday night lights at 21:00 local time, was decided by a late surge from the visitors after Lechia had made the brighter start.

Match Overview

Lechia Tomaszow Mazowiecki began with purpose, pressing high and forcing Polonia Lidzbark into a series of hurried clearances. The home side's reward arrived in the 18th minute when Kamil Rutkowski latched onto a through ball and finished low into the far corner. For much of the first half, Lechia looked the more likely side to add to the score, but Polonia survived the pressure and reorganised at the interval.

The second half was a different story. Polonia pushed their midfield higher and began to win the ball in dangerous areas. Mateusz Dabrowski equalised in the 54th minute with a composed finish after a short corner routine. As the game opened up, both teams traded chances, but it was Polonia who found the decisive moment eight minutes from time. Substitute Jakub Sobczak arrived at the back post to convert a deep cross and seal a 2-1 win.

Key Moments

• 18' — Kamil Rutkowski gives Lechia Tomaszow Mazowiecki a 1-0 lead with a low finish.
• 54' — Mateusz Dabrowski equalises for Polonia Lidzbark after a well-worked corner.
• 82' — Jakub Sobczak scores the winner for Polonia, finishing a cross at the back post.
• 90+3' — Lechia push everyone forward, but Polonia's defence clears a final free kick.

Tactical Story

Lechia's early 4-2-3-1 shape worked well in the first half, with quick combinations down the right creating overloads. However, their intensity dropped after the break, and Polonia's switch to a more direct 4-4-2 allowed them to bypass the home press. Polonia's midfield duo of Adrian Wojcik and Tomasz Bak grew into the game, winning second balls and setting up repeated attacks down the flanks.

Standout Players

Mateusz Dabrowski was Polonia's catalyst, not only for his equalising goal but for his link-up play between the lines. Jakub Sobczak made an instant impact from the bench, while centre-back Piotr Kaczmarek produced a series of important clearances in the closing stages. For Lechia, Kamil Rutkowski was the brightest attacking threat, but goalkeeper Bartosz Lewandowski could do little about either goal.

Season Impact

The three points lift Polonia Lidzbark's momentum in the Poland Liga 3 standings and strengthen their push for a higher finish. Lechia Tomaszow Mazowiecki, meanwhile, are left to reflect on a missed opportunity at home. With the league table still tightly packed, both sides will know that results in matches like this can shape the promotion and relegation picture later in the campaign.
