Lechia Dzierzoniow 5-2 WKS Wierzbice delivered a goal-fest in Poland Liga 3, with the hosts producing a commanding attacking display to claim a convincing three points on 3 October 2026. Seven goals, a string of fine individual performances and a raucous home crowd made this one of the standout scorelines of the round.

Match Overview

Lechia Dzierzoniow set the tone from the opening minutes, pressing aggressively and looking to get the ball forward early. Their intensity was rewarded when they broke the deadlock, and rather than sitting on the lead, they continued to pour forward in search of more. WKS Wierzbice, to their credit, stayed in the contest and responded with goals of their own, but they were never quite able to stem the flow of attacks coming at them.

By the time the game reached its closing stages, the hosts had established full control, and the final scoreline reflected a match in which the attacking quality of one side simply overwhelmed the other.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Lechia Dzierzoniow struck first after a sustained spell of pressure.
• Quick response: WKS Wierzbice hit back almost immediately to level the score.
• Hosts pull clear: Two goals in quick succession before the break gave Lechia a cushion.
• Wierzbice rally: A second goal for the visitors briefly raised hopes of a comeback.
• Late flourish: Lechia added two more late goals to complete a 5-2 victory.

Tactical Story

This was a game decided in wide areas and in the transitions between them. Lechia Dzierzoniow consistently overloaded the flanks, using overlapping runs to stretch WKS Wierzbice's back line and create space for cutbacks into the penalty area. Their midfielders pushed high, effectively turning the match into a series of sustained attacking waves.

Wierzbice's response was to try to play through the press and hit on the counter, and they enjoyed their best moments when they managed to bypass the first line of pressure. But too often they were caught in possession in dangerous areas, and Lechia punished those turnovers ruthlessly.

Standout Players

Lechia's attacking players shared the goals around, but the pick of the bunch was the forward who led the line, combining hold-up play with sharp movement in the box. The home side's wide players were a constant menace, delivering dangerous balls all afternoon. For WKS Wierzbice, their two goalscorers showed good instincts in front of goal, and their goalkeeper made several saves that prevented the margin from growing even larger.

Season Impact

A five-goal haul is a significant statement in Poland Liga 3, where goals are rarely so easy to come by. The win strengthens Lechia Dzierzoniow's position in the table and, just as importantly, builds attacking confidence that can carry a team through tougher fixtures later in the campaign.

For WKS Wierzbice, the defeat is a setback, but their two away goals demonstrate that they carry a genuine threat going forward. Tightening up defensively and reducing turnovers in their own half will be the priority if they are to climb the standings in the coming weeks.
