KS Polonia Sroda Wlkp edged Lech II Poznan 3-2 in a five-goal Poland Liga 3 contest on 18 October 2026, with a late winner settling an open and entertaining match. The visitors twice restored their lead before finally breaking Lech II’s resistance in the closing minutes.

Match overview

Lech II Poznan brought energy and youthful intensity to the game, pressing high and looking to play forward quickly. KS Polonia Sroda Wlkp matched that tempo and showed greater composure in the decisive moments. The lead changed hands in terms of momentum rather than the scoreline, with Polonia scoring first, Lech II equalising, and the visitors pulling away again before a late finale. Both sides created chances in a match that was stretched from the early stages.

Key moments

• 8th minute: Polonia took an early lead after winning the ball in midfield and attacking quickly through the centre.
• 22nd minute: Lech II levelled with a well-worked move down the left, finished confidently at the near post.
• 49th minute: Polonia restored their advantage shortly after half-time with a header from a corner.
• 67th minute: Lech II equalised again after a spell of pressure, converting from close range following a goalmouth scramble.
• 85th minute: Polonia grabbed the winner on the counter, with their forward finishing low after being released behind the defence.

Tactical story

This was a game of transitions. Lech II’s young side wanted to press and play with freedom, which created chances but also left space for Polonia to exploit. The visitors were more experienced in managing those moments, often bypassing the first line of pressure with a direct pass before attacking the space behind. Lech II’s equalisers came from sustained pressure and width, but their willingness to commit bodies forward ultimately opened the door for Polonia’s late winner. Set pieces also played a role, with Polonia’s second goal coming from a well-delivered corner.

Standout performers

Polonia’s attacking midfielder was at the heart of most of their best work, linking play and creating chances in the final third. The centre-forward’s movement caused problems all afternoon and was rewarded with the decisive late goal. For Lech II, the left winger was a constant threat and had a hand in both equalising goals, while the young goalkeeper made several saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

Season impact

The win gives KS Polonia Sroda Wlkp an important three points in Liga 3 and rewards their game management in a high-scoring contest. Lech II Poznan will take encouragement from their attacking display but will be frustrated by defensive lapses at key moments. For a reserve side built around development, the match offered valuable lessons in handling pressure and protecting the ball in the final stages.
