KKS 1925 Kalisz vs Lech II Poznan: Lech Reserves Win 4-2 Thriller in Poland Liga 3

Lech II Poznan produced a clinical attacking performance to beat KKS 1925 Kalisz 4-2 at the Stadion Miejski in Kalisz on 11 October 2026. In a Poland Liga 3 encounter full of pace and transitions, the visitors scored four times to hand the home side a damaging defeat and underline the quality of their young squad.

The match had six goals, momentum swings, and a clear contrast in style: Kalisz tried to build patiently through midfield, while Lech II Poznan pressed high and attacked vertically at every opportunity. The result moves Lech II into a promising position in the table, while Kalisz are left to address defensive issues that have begun to cost them points.

Match Overview

Lech II Poznan started the brighter and took the lead in the 14th minute. A high turnover in Kalisz's half allowed midfielder Oskar Nowak to slide a pass into the channel, and forward Filip Lewandowski finished calmly past the goalkeeper for 0-1. The early goal forced Kalisz to push higher, and they equalized in the 33rd minute when Mateusz Kaczmarek headed home a well-delivered corner.

Parity lasted only until first-half stoppage time. Lech II regained the lead in the 45+2nd minute when Bartosz Zieliński curled a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. That goal changed the mood at the break, and Lech II came out for the second half with renewed confidence.

In the 58th minute, the visitors extended their advantage to 1-3. A quick counter-attack ended with Nowak finishing a low cross at the back post. Kalisz responded well and pulled one back in the 72nd minute through Przemysław Kaczor, who converted a penalty after a foul in the area. But any hopes of a comeback were extinguished in the 88th minute when Lewandowski grabbed his second goal of the match, sealing a 4-2 victory for Lech II Poznan.

Tactical Story

Lech II Poznan's young side played with energy and intelligence. Their 4-2-3-1 shape became a 4-2-4 in possession, with wingers pinning Kalisz's full-backs and the front two making repeated runs in behind. The midfield pair of Nowak and Zieliński controlled the rhythm, knowing when to slow the game down and when to launch quick attacks.

Kalisz's 4-3-3 looked good in patches, especially when they switched play from side to side. However, their high defensive line was repeatedly exposed by Lech II's direct running. The home side also struggled to win second balls in midfield, allowing Lech II to sustain pressure and create chances. Kalisz's penalty gave them a lifeline, but they could not maintain the intensity needed to complete the comeback.

Standout Players

Filip Lewandowski (Lech II Poznan) — A brace and a constant threat in behind, the forward was the game's most dangerous attacker.

Oskar Nowak (Lech II Poznan) — Scored one and assisted another, dictating the tempo from midfield.

Mateusz Kaczmarek (KKS 1925 Kalisz) — Kalisz's best player, scoring a header and driving the team forward.

Przemysław Kaczor (KKS 1925 Kalisz) — Converted his penalty confidently and worked hard in a difficult attacking role.

Season Impact

For Lech II Poznan, this was a statement win. Reserve teams in Poland Liga 3 are often judged on development rather than results, but a 4-2 away victory shows the squad's competitive quality. If they can maintain this level of attacking output, they will be a difficult opponent for anyone in the division.

KKS 1925 Kalisz, meanwhile, must regroup quickly. Conceding four goals at home is a concern, especially in a league where defensive solidity is often the foundation for promotion challenges. The loss leaves them with work to do, but their attacking moments — particularly the set-piece goal and the penalty — showed they have the tools to respond in the coming fixtures.
