Hetman Zamosc 1-0 JKS Jaroslaw: Single goal decides tight Liga 3 contest

Hetman Zamosc edged JKS Jaroslaw 1-0 in Poland’s Liga 3, with a second-half goal proving enough to settle a closely contested match. In a game short on clear chances, Hetman’s patience and set-piece threat made the difference, while JKS Jaroslaw will rue their inability to convert the few openings they created on the break.

The first half was a scrappy, physical affair. Both sides pressed aggressively in midfield, and neither was allowed to settle into a comfortable passing rhythm. Hetman Zamosc saw more of the ball but struggled to break down a compact JKS defensive block. JKS, meanwhile, looked dangerous whenever they won possession and moved the ball forward quickly, though their final pass often lacked the precision needed to test the goalkeeper.

Key moments

• 54’ – 1-0 Hetman Zamosc: Kacper Nowak scored the decisive goal, reacting first after a corner caused confusion in the JKS penalty area.
• 68’ – JKS response: JKS Jaroslaw forced a save from a free kick as they pushed for an equaliser.
• 82’ – Hetman block: A goal-bound JKS shot was blocked bravely by a Hetman defender inside the box.
• 90+2’ – Late pressure: JKS sent their goalkeeper forward for a corner, but Hetman cleared the danger to hold on.

Tactical story

Hetman Zamosc’s game plan was built on control and patience. They circulated the ball patiently, tried to draw JKS out of shape and looked to attack through the half-spaces. The hosts’ best moments came from set pieces, and it was no surprise that the winning goal arrived from a corner. After taking the lead, Hetman dropped slightly deeper and defended their advantage with discipline.

JKS Jaroslaw will feel they defended well for long periods. Their back line dealt with a number of crosses and limited Hetman’s clear sights of goal. Going forward, they were at their most threatening on the counterattack and from set pieces of their own. The visitors had moments in the final 20 minutes, but they lacked the final touch when it mattered most.

Standout performers

Nowak will take the headlines for the winning goal, but Hetman’s goalkeeper and centre-backs were equally important in securing the clean sheet. The midfield battle was key to the result, and Hetman’s ability to win second balls in the second half helped them protect the lead. For JKS, their goalkeeper made several good saves to keep the deficit at one, while their midfielders worked tirelessly to keep the team in the game.

What it means

The three points are valuable for Hetman Zamosc in the Liga 3 promotion race, where home form and narrow victories often prove decisive. The result also strengthens their defensive record and gives the squad confidence ahead of a demanding run of fixtures. For JKS Jaroslaw, the defeat is a narrow one that will sting, but their organisation and fighting spirit suggest they can remain competitive in the third tier.
