Gornik Polkowice produced one of the most convincing performances of their Liga 3 campaign so far, defeating LKS Goczalkowice Zdroj 4-1 at home on Saturday evening. A dominant first-half display and a brace from striker Bartosz Kowalczyk set the tone for a victory that underlined Polkowice’s attacking quality.

Match Overview

Gornik Polkowice started with intent and needed only eight minutes to open the scoring. Bartosz Kowalczyk latched onto a neat pass inside the penalty area and finished confidently to give the hosts an early lead. The home side continued to press high and doubled their advantage in the 19th minute when Dawid Nowak converted from close range after a well-worked move down the right.

LKS Goczalkowice Zdroj briefly found a route back into the game in the 34th minute, with Piotr Adamski reducing the deficit after a period of pressure. But any hopes of a comeback were extinguished shortly after the hour mark, when Kowalczyk scored his second of the night. A fourth goal from Michal Zielinski in the 84th minute completed a thoroughly deserved win for the hosts.

Tactical Story

Gornik Polkowice were aggressive from the first whistle, pressing Goczalkowice’s defenders and forcing mistakes in dangerous areas. Their wide players stayed high, creating overloads and delivering early crosses into the box. The midfield trio also controlled the tempo, ensuring the hosts remained on the front foot even after Goczalkowice scored.

LKS Goczalkowice Zdroj struggled to cope with Polkowice’s intensity. They defended deep for much of the match and found it difficult to build sustained attacks, often resorting to long balls that were comfortably dealt with by the home defence. The visitors’ goal was a bright moment in an otherwise difficult evening, but they never looked likely to take anything from the game after falling two goals behind early on.

Standout Performers

Bartosz Kowalczyk was the clear standout, with two well-taken goals and constant movement that unsettled the Goczalkowice defence. Dawid Nowak was also influential, combining energetic pressing with intelligent link-up play. For Goczalkowice, Piotr Adamski showed good composure for his goal, but the visitors lacked the collective defensive solidity needed to contain Polkowice’s attack.

League Impact

This 4-1 victory sends a strong message about Gornik Polkowice’s ambitions in Liga 3. The three points keep them firmly in the promotion conversation and highlight their ability to dominate matches at home. For LKS Goczalkowice Zdroj, the defeat raises questions about their away form, and they will need a much more resilient defensive performance in their next fixture to avoid slipping further behind in the table.
