12 de Junio VH and Sol de América played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the Paraguayan Division Intermedia on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, a result that leaves both clubs with important work to do in the promotion race. In a match shaped by tactical discipline and spells of pressure at both ends, neither side could find the second goal that would have turned a share of the points into a major statement.

Match overview

12 de Junio VH started brightly and took the lead in the 23rd minute through Luis Cáceres, who finished neatly after a quick exchange on the edge of the box. The home side used their energy well, pressing Sol de América’s midfield and forcing turnovers in dangerous areas. Sol de América gradually settled, however, and their patience paid off early in the second half when Diego Rojas equalised with a composed finish after a well-worked move down the right.

Both teams had chances to win it. 12 de Junio VH threatened from set pieces, while Sol de América looked increasingly dangerous on the break as the match opened up. In the end, a draw felt like a fair reflection of a contest in which both defences held firm during the key moments of the second half.

Key moments

• 23rd minute – 12 de Junio VH take the lead: Luis Cáceres found space inside the penalty area and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper.
• 49th minute – Sol de América equalise: Diego Rojas finished off a fluent attacking move, restoring parity early in the second half.
• 68th minute – Big save at the other end: The Sol de América goalkeeper reacted well to deny a close-range header from a corner.
• 81st minute – Late chance for the visitors: A quick counter ended with a shot flashing just wide of the far post.

Tactical battle

12 de Junio VH were organised and aggressive without the ball, looking to win possession in midfield and attack quickly. Their best moments came when they managed to switch play from side to side and stretch Sol de América’s defensive block. Sol de América, meanwhile, grew into the game by keeping the ball more patiently and using their wide players to create crossing opportunities.

The draw highlighted a familiar theme for both sides: promising attacking phases without a ruthless final touch. Sol de América controlled longer spells after the interval, but 12 de Junio VH remained dangerous until the final whistle, especially from dead-ball situations.

Standout performers

Luis Cáceres was lively for 12 de Junio VH, not only for his goal but also for his movement between the lines. Diego Rojas was Sol de América’s most influential figure, driving forward and taking his goal well. Both goalkeepers also played their part, making important saves in a match where the next goal would likely have decided the outcome.

Promotion race implications

In the Division Intermedia, every point carries weight, especially for clubs with ambitions of reaching Paraguay’s top flight. Sol de América will see this as two points dropped given their second-half control, while 12 de Junio VH can take encouragement from matching one of the division’s stronger teams. The result keeps both sides in the thick of a crowded promotion conversation, with little room for error in the weeks ahead.
