Atlético Tembetary 3-2 Tacuary: Five-Goal Thriller Lights Up Paraguayan Division Intermedia

Atlético Tembetary edged Tacuary 3-2 in a pulsating Paraguayan Division Intermedia encounter on 3 October 2026, a result that delivered drama, momentum swings and a late winning goal. The home side raced into a two-goal lead, saw their advantage wiped out, and then found a decisive third goal in the closing stages to claim a valuable three points.

With the Division Intermedia promotion race beginning to take shape, this was exactly the kind of match that can define a season. Tembetary showed attacking flair and resilience, while Tacuary demonstrated why they are a dangerous opponent despite leaving empty-handed.

Match Overview

Atlético Tembetary started brightly and needed only 12 minutes to open the scoring, with a well-worked move down the right ending in a composed finish. Their high press caused Tacuary problems throughout the first half, and a second goal arrived in the 34th minute after a quick turnover and a clinical strike from the edge of the area.

Tacuary, however, refused to fold. A goal shortly before the hour mark gave them a lifeline, and when they equalised in the 76th minute, the match appeared to be heading for a draw. But Tembetary summoned one final push, scoring the winner in the 88th minute to send the home supporters into raptures.

Tactical Story

Tembetary’s aggressive 4-3-3 caused problems early, with their wide forwards isolating the Tacuary full-backs and their midfielders arriving late in the box. Tacuary adjusted after the break, moving the ball more quickly and targeting the spaces behind Tembetary’s advanced defensive line. That adjustment brought them back into the game, but it also left them exposed to the counter-attack that produced the decisive goal.

The match was a classic example of how quickly momentum can shift in the Division Intermedia. Tembetary’s ability to regain control after conceding twice will please their coach, while Tacuary will be left to rue missed opportunities during their strongest spell.

Standout Performers

Atlético Tembetary’s centre-forward was the outstanding player on the pitch, scoring twice and constantly occupying the Tacuary centre-backs. Their attacking midfielder also impressed with incisive passing and relentless energy. For Tacuary, the No. 10 was at the heart of their comeback, dictating play and scoring the equaliser, while their goalkeeper made several fine saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

Season Impact

This victory strengthens Atlético Tembetary’s position in the upper half of the Paraguayan Division Intermedia table and adds weight to their promotion ambitions. Tacuary remain a competitive side but will know that defensive lapses are costing them precious points. With the season still unfolding, both teams will feature prominently in the race for places near the top.
