Presidente Hayes produced a dominant performance in PAR D3 on 23 October 2026, defeating Olimpia de Ita 4-0 at home thanks to a ruthless attacking display and a second-half surge that turned a comfortable lead into a comprehensive rout. The win underlined Presidente Hayes’ promotion credentials and left Olimpia de Ita with plenty to ponder after a difficult evening.

Match overview

Presidente Hayes started brightly and took control of the match early, pressing high and forcing Olimpia de Ita into a series of rushed clearances. The home side’s midfield won the majority of second balls, and their wide players repeatedly stretched the visiting defence. Once the opening goal arrived, the pattern of the game was set: Presidente Hayes attacked in waves while Olimpia de Ita struggled to keep possession for more than a few passes at a time.

By half-time, the hosts held a two-goal advantage and looked in complete command. The second half brought more of the same, with Presidente Hayes adding two further goals and managing the game intelligently, keeping a clean sheet and protecting their lead without ever taking their foot off the pedal. Olimpia de Ita’s best moments came from set pieces, but they were unable to seriously test the home goalkeeper.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Presidente Hayes took the lead when Miguel Ángel Benítez arrived late in the box to convert a low cross from the right.
• 34th minute: Derlis Ramírez doubled the advantage with a composed finish after a quick turnover in midfield.
• 58th minute: Ramírez grabbed his second of the night, heading home from a corner to make it 3-0.
• 76th minute: Óscar Villalba completed the scoring with a curling effort from the edge of the area that left the goalkeeper helpless.
• 89th minute: Olimpia de Ita’s difficult night was summed up by a late free-kick that sailed well over the bar.

Tactical story

Presidente Hayes set up with an aggressive high press and looked to win the ball back quickly in Olimpia de Ita’s half. Their midfield trio pressed in unison, cutting off passing lanes and forcing errors. Once in possession, the home side attacked with width, getting both full-backs involved and creating overloads on the flanks. That approach produced a steady stream of crosses and cut-backs, and Olimpia de Ita’s back four never fully adjusted.

Olimpia de Ita, by contrast, struggled to build from the back. Their attempts to play through pressure were repeatedly intercepted, and when they did manage to get forward, they lacked numbers in the box. The visitors improved slightly after the break but were undone by two more goals in quick succession, and from that point the game was effectively over.

Standout players

Derlis Ramírez was the obvious standout, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence and physicality. Miguel Ángel Benítez was influential in midfield, setting the tempo and chipping in with the opening goal. Óscar Villalba added a touch of quality with his second-half strike, while the Presidente Hayes goalkeeper had a quiet but assured evening on the way to a clean sheet. For Olimpia de Ita, the central defender who made several late blocks was one of the few positives on a tough night.

Table and season impact

The three points and the four-goal swing give Presidente Hayes a significant boost in the PAR D3 standings, strengthening their position in the upper half of the table and adding momentum to their promotion push. The clean sheet will also please the coaching staff, who have been looking for greater defensive consistency. For Olimpia de Ita, the result is a setback that leaves them needing a quick response in their next fixture, with the team’s defensive organisation and ability to cope with sustained pressure now under scrutiny.
