Tactical Story

Sportivo Luqueño Women lined up with an aggressive, front-foot approach, using width to stretch the Ameliano back line and overloading central areas when crosses came in. Their midfield trio controlled possession and recycled the ball quickly, ensuring the pressure on the visiting defence was almost constant.

Sportivo Ameliano Women defended in a mid-block and looked to hit on the counter, which produced their goal and a handful of promising moments. However, they struggled to contain Luqueño's runners between the lines, and the hosts' superior finishing ultimately settled the tie.

Standout Performers

Luqueño's attacking players were the standout performers of the evening, combining sharp movement with clinical finishing. The midfield provided a steady supply line, dictating tempo and winning the majority of second balls, while the defence recovered well after conceding to close out the match without further alarm.

For Sportivo Ameliano Women, the goalscorer and the team's wide players offered the most consistent threat, and their commitment to attacking even at two goals down was admirable.
