Aasane Women and Start Kristiansand Women played out a hard-fought 0-0 draw in the Norwegian Women’s 1. Divisjon on Sunday, 27 September 2026. While the scoreline was blank, the match was far from dull, with both goalkeepers making important saves and defences dominating a tense, tactical contest at Åsane Arena.

Match Overview

The two sides cancelled each other out for long spells, but there were chances at both ends. Aasane Women looked to build patiently from the back, while Start Kristiansand Women pressed aggressively and tried to force turnovers in dangerous areas. The first half produced a handful of half-chances, but neither team could find the finishing touch.

The second half opened up slightly as legs tired and spaces appeared. Aasane had a goal ruled out for offside, and Start Kristiansand hit the post from a set piece. In the end, both defences held firm, and the points were shared in a result that may feel more valuable to one side than the other.

Key Moments

• 14th minute: Start Kristiansand Women forced the first real save, with a low drive pushed away by the Aasane goalkeeper.
• 37th minute: Aasane Women created their best chance of the first half, but a close-range effort was blocked on the line.
• 68th minute: Aasane thought they had taken the lead, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside after a quick VAR-style consultation.
• 82nd minute: Start Kristiansand Women struck the post from a corner, nearly snatching all three points.

Tactical Story

Aasane Women tried to control possession through their midfield pivot, switching play and looking for overloads on the wings. Start Kristiansand Women, meanwhile, were happy to press high and attack quickly when they won the ball. It made for a fascinating midfield battle, with neither side able to sustain pressure for long periods.

Defensively, both teams were well organised. Aasane’s centre-backs dealt with crosses impressively, while Start’s back line stepped up smartly to catch Aasane offside on several occasions. The draw was a fair reflection of a match where clear-cut chances were at a premium.

Standout Players

Both goalkeepers deserve credit for keeping clean sheets. Aasane’s number one made a brilliant second-half save to deny a one-on-one, while Start Kristiansand’s goalkeeper commanded her box well and dealt with several dangerous deliveries. In midfield, Aasane’s captain was tireless, and Start’s central defender produced a commanding performance, winning headers and reading the game expertly.

Season Impact

The point keeps both teams moving in the Norwegian Women’s 1. Divisjon, though neither will feel completely satisfied. Aasane Women remain difficult to beat, while Start Kristiansand Women showed they can compete away from home. With the promotion race and relegation battle both likely to be tight, every draw matters — and this one could look more significant as the season unfolds.
