SK Brann Women delivered a professional and increasingly dominant performance to beat FK Fyllingsdalen Women 3-0 in the Norwegian Women’s Cup on 22 October 2026. The away side controlled the tie for long spells, broke through in the first half and then pulled clear after the break to secure a comfortable cup victory and a place in the next round.

Brann take control of the cup tie

From the opening minutes, Brann established the tempo. They moved the ball quickly through midfield, pushed their full-backs high and forced Fyllingsdalen into a deep defensive block. The home side worked hard to stay compact, but the pressure told as Brann created a steady stream of half-chances before taking a deserved lead.

The opening goal arrived midway through the first half after Brann won the ball back in an advanced area. A quick combination opened up the Fyllingsdalen back line and a low finish gave the visitors the advantage. Fyllingsdalen responded with a brief spell of pressure and produced one of their best moments of the match on the counter, but Brann’s goalkeeper was alert to keep the lead intact at half-time.

Key moments

• 14th minute: Brann press high, recover possession and score the opening goal with a composed finish inside the penalty area.
• 32nd minute: Fyllingsdalen’s best first-half chance comes on the break, but the shot is saved by the Brann goalkeeper.
• 57th minute: Brann double their lead after sustained pressure, converting a well-worked move from the right flank.
• 78th minute: A Brann substitute seals the win with a third goal on the counter-attack, finishing calmly after a rapid transition.

Tactical story: patience and pressure

Brann’s 4-3-3 shape gave them width and control. Their midfield rotated well, keeping Fyllingsdalen chasing the ball and creating space between the lines. The away side were patient in possession but also ruthless when turnovers occurred, especially in the second half when Fyllingsdalen began to tire and leave more gaps.

Fyllingsdalen deserve credit for their organisation. They defended in numbers, blocked several shots and made the first half competitive for long periods. Their best route forward was the counter-attack, but too often the final pass was missing. Once Brann scored the second goal, the tie became far more difficult for the home side to manage.

Standout performers

Brann’s midfield was central to the result. They set the rhythm, won second balls and kept the team moving forward even when Fyllingsdalen tried to slow the game down. The Brann goalkeeper also made an important first-half save that protected the lead before the visitors pulled away.

For Fyllingsdalen, the goalkeeper and central defenders worked tirelessly under pressure. The scoreline ultimately reflected Brann’s greater attacking quality, but the home side’s effort and defensive discipline kept the contest respectable for long stretches.

What the result means

The 0-3 win sends SK Brann Women into the next stage of the Norwegian Women’s Cup with confidence. A clean sheet and a three-goal margin will be especially pleasing, particularly with the team’s attacking players finding space and finishing chances in the second half. For FK Fyllingsdalen Women, the cup run ends, but the performance offered useful lessons against higher-level opposition.

In the broader cup picture, Brann remain a dangerous knockout side: organised, patient and capable of scoring in different ways. The result will be recorded as a straightforward away win, but the match also highlighted Brann’s ability to turn control into goals after the interval.
