Rosenborg BK Women 4-2 Stabæk Women: Six-Goal Thriller in Trondheim

Rosenborg BK Women edged a pulsating six-goal contest against Stabæk Women in the Norwegian Toppserien on Friday, 18 September 2026, winning 4-2 at Koteng Arena. The match was a showcase of attacking football, with both sides creating chances throughout, but Rosenborg’s superior finishing ultimately proved decisive.

Stabæk arrived with a positive game plan and stunned the hosts by taking the lead in the 22nd minute through Nora Høgberg, who finished neatly after a quick counter-attack. The goal woke Rosenborg from their early slumber, and from that moment on, the home side took control of proceedings.

Rosenborg Responds with Authority

Rosenborg equalised in the 33rd minute when Emilie Nautnes pounced on a loose ball in the box and fired home from close range. The momentum had shifted entirely. Just before half-time, Cesilie Andreassen put the hosts ahead with a composed finish following a slick one-two on the edge of the area.

The second half began with Stabæk pushing for an equaliser, but they were caught on the break in the 55th minute. Nautnes doubled her tally with a powerful run and finish, making it 3-1. The visitors refused to lie down, however, and pulled one back in the 67th minute when Mia Østerås converted a well-worked set piece.

Any hopes of a dramatic comeback were dashed in the 81st minute when substitute Julie Blakstad sealed the win with a calm finish, capping off a relentless team move. Stabæk pushed forward in the closing stages but could not find a third goal.

Tactical Story: Width and Counter-Attacks

Rosenborg’s game plan relied heavily on width. Their full-backs pushed high, stretching Stabæk’s defence and creating space for the wingers to deliver crosses. The midfield trio of Andreassen, Nautnes and Blakstad rotated fluidly, making it difficult for Stabæk to track runners.

Stabæk, meanwhile, looked dangerous on the counter-attack. Their two goals came from quick transitions, exploiting gaps left by Rosenborg’s advanced full-backs. However, they struggled to maintain defensive discipline for the full 90 minutes, and Rosenborg’s pressure eventually told.

Standout Players

• Emilie Nautnes: Two goals and an assist. Her movement in the box was a constant menace.
• Cesilie Andreassen: Controlled the midfield and scored a crucial goal before half-time.
• Julie Blakstad: Made an immediate impact off the bench with the fourth goal.
• Nora Høgberg (Stabæk): Scored a fine opener and worked tirelessly throughout.

Toppserien Table Impact

The three points keep Rosenborg BK Women firmly in the title race, maintaining pressure on the top two. Stabæk Women remain in mid-table, but their attacking display showed they can trouble any side on their day. Rosenborg’s next match is a tricky away trip to Brann, while Stabæk host Lyn.

With the season entering its final stretch, Rosenborg’s ability to win high-scoring games could be the difference between challenging for the title and falling short.
