Molde Women 0-4 Valerenga Women — Norwegian Toppserien — September 26, 2026

Valerenga Women produced a ruthless away performance to thrash Molde Women 4-0 in the Norwegian Toppserien on Saturday evening. The victory reinforces Valerenga's title credentials and leaves Molde with plenty to ponder after a chastening night at Aker Stadion.

Match Overview

Valerenga needed only 12 minutes to open the scoring, and from that moment the result never looked in doubt. A slick passing move ended with a composed finish into the bottom corner, setting the tone for a dominant display. Molde tried to press high, but Valerenga's midfield repeatedly played through the lines with ease.

The second goal arrived in the 34th minute, a curling effort from the edge of the box after Molde failed to clear a corner. At 2-0, the home side's heads dropped visibly, and Valerenga controlled the remainder of the first half without ever looking troubled.

Key Moments

• 12' — Valerenga take the lead with a precise low finish after a flowing move.
• 34' — A curling strike doubles the advantage.
• 58' — Valerenga's striker scores her second with a header from a cross.
• 81' — A late fourth is drilled in from 20 yards.

The second half was more of the same. Valerenga added a third in the 58th minute when their striker rose highest to head home a pinpoint cross. The fourth arrived in the 81st minute, a powerful drive from outside the box that gave the goalkeeper no chance. Molde never managed a shot on target, and their defence was pulled apart time and again.

Tactical Story

Valerenga lined up in a 4-3-3 that overwhelmed Molde's midfield. Their pressing was aggressive and well-organised, forcing turnovers high up the pitch. In possession, they switched play quickly and attacked the spaces behind Molde's full-backs. Molde, by contrast, were passive out of possession and disjointed going forward. Their attempts to build from the back were easily smothered, and they resorted to long balls that were comfortably dealt with.

Standout Players

Valerenga's striker was the star of the show, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence. The central midfielder dictated the tempo and provided two assists, while the centre-backs were barely tested. For Molde, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score from being even more emphatic, but it was a night to forget for the rest of the team.

Toppserien Table Impact

The three points keep Valerenga firmly in the hunt for the Toppserien title, sending a clear message to their rivals. Molde remain dangerously close to the relegation zone and will need a rapid response to avoid being dragged into a battle for survival. On this evidence, Valerenga look like genuine contenders, while Molde face a long road ahead.
