Vag claimed a hard-fought 2-1 away win over Viking B in the Norwegian 3.Divisjon on 26 September 2026, using a disciplined defensive display and a late goal to take all three points. The result keeps Vag in the hunt for promotion while Viking B are left to rue missed chances.

Match overview

Vag started brightly and took the lead inside the first quarter-hour. Viking B responded well and equalized before half-time, but the visitors regained control after the break and found a winner in the closing stages. The match was played at a high tempo, with both teams committed to attacking football.

Key moments

• 14' – Vag score first through a low drive from the edge of the box.
• 41' – Viking B equalize with a header from a cross.
• 82' – Vag score the winner on the counter-attack.
• 90+3' – Viking B have a late penalty appeal waved away.

Tactical story

Vag set up in a compact 4-4-2, looking to absorb pressure and spring forward on the break. Viking B dominated possession but struggled to break down a well-organized back line. The winning goal came from exactly that pattern: a Viking B attack broke down, and Vag moved the ball quickly into the space behind.

Standout players

Vag’s goalkeeper produced a man-of-the-match performance with a string of saves, while their striker took his goal coolly. Viking B’s midfielders worked hard, and their equalizing goal was well crafted, but the reserve side lacked a cutting edge in the final 20 minutes.

Season impact

Vag move closer to the promotion places with a valuable away victory. Viking B, meanwhile, remain a development-focused team, but dropping points at home will be frustrating. The result adds another twist to the Norwegian 3.Divisjon standings as the season enters its decisive phase.
