Strømsgodset 5-1 Kongsvinger produced one of the most emphatic scorelines of the Norwegian 1. Divisjon round on 15 October 2026, with Strømsgodset overwhelming Kongsvinger at Marienlyst Stadion. A first-half attacking surge and a second-half hat-trick from Marcus Løken powered the home side to a dominant victory.

Match overview

Strømsgodset wasted no time taking control. In the 8th minute, Marcus Løken opened the scoring with a composed finish after a rapid move down the right. The hosts doubled their lead in the 25th minute when Kristoffer Haugen drove forward from midfield and struck a powerful effort into the bottom corner. Kongsvinger struggled to contain Strømsgodset’s fluid front line, and the third goal arrived in the 41st minute when Marcus Løken tapped in from close range after a low cross.

The second half was more of the same. Jonas Engh made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute with a neat finish inside the box. Kongsvinger briefly reduced the deficit in the 70th minute through Marius Nordby, but any hope of a comeback was quickly extinguished. Marcus Løken completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute, capping a brilliant individual performance and a ruthless team display.

Tactical story

Strømsgodset’s 4-3-3 was fluid and aggressive, with the front three interchanging positions and the midfielders pushing high to support attacks. Kongsvinger tried to defend with a high line, but that proved disastrous against Strømsgodset’s pace and direct running. The home side repeatedly played through the lines and created overloads in wide areas, while their pressing prevented Kongsvinger from building any sustained rhythm until the game was already decided.

Standout players

Marcus Løken was the obvious star of the night, scoring three goals and constantly troubling the Kongsvinger defence. Kristoffer Haugen added drive and quality from midfield, and Jonas Engh’s movement created space for others even before his goal. For Kongsvinger, Marius Nordby took his chance well, but the team as a whole struggled to cope with Strømsgodset’s intensity.

What it means in the table

The victory strengthens Strømsgodset’s position at the top end of the Norwegian 1. Divisjon and sends a clear message to their promotion rivals. Kongsvinger remain in mid-table, but this heavy defeat will raise concerns about their defensive organisation. With Strømsgodset scoring freely and Løken in outstanding form, they look increasingly like one of the teams to beat in the race for promotion.
