Stromsgodset B 2-4 IF Floya: Six-Goal Thriller Ends in Away Win

IF Floya produced a clinical attacking display to beat Stromsgodset B 4-2 in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon on 27 September 2026. The visitors scored at key moments throughout the match and withstood a spirited second-half comeback attempt to leave with all three points.

Stromsgodset B, the reserve side of the Eliteserien club, fielded a young lineup that showed plenty of energy but lacked the cutting edge of their more experienced opponents. Floya’s victory was built on quick combination play, sharp finishing, and an ability to punish mistakes in the final third.

Match Overview

Floya started brightly and took the lead early, settling any nerves and forcing Stromsgodset B to chase the game. The hosts responded with some promising possession, but Floya doubled their advantage with a well-taken goal on the counter. A third goal before the break put the visitors in command, though Stromsgodset B managed to pull one back before half-time to keep the contest alive.

After the restart, Stromsgodset B pushed higher and reduced the deficit further, creating a tense spell in which an equaliser looked possible. Floya, however, regained control with a fourth goal late on, sealing a win that reflects their efficiency in front of goal.

Key Moments

• Early opener: Floya struck first after a quick move down the left, finishing calmly at the near post.
• Second goal: A turnover in midfield allowed Floya to break at speed and double the lead.
• Stromsgodset response: The home side pulled one back before the interval with a header from a corner.
• Late seal: After Stromsgodset B made it 3-2, Floya scored a fourth to end the comeback hopes.

Tactical Story

Floya’s 4-3-3 shape caused problems all afternoon. Their front three pressed intelligently, cutting off passing lanes and forcing Stromsgodset B into long balls that were comfortably dealt with. When they won possession, they moved the ball forward quickly, often targeting the space behind the full-backs.

Stromsgodset B improved after the break by playing more directly and getting runners beyond the Floya midfield. The young side showed character to fight back from 3-1 down, but their defensive lapses proved costly. Floya’s game management in the final 15 minutes was the difference.

Standout Players

Floya’s centre-forward was central to the win, scoring twice and holding up play effectively. Their right winger also impressed with two assists. For Stromsgodset B, the central midfielder drove the second-half revival, while the substitute winger added pace and directness after coming on.

Table Impact

The three points lift Floya into a stronger position in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon standings and continue their push for promotion. Stromsgodset B remain a development-focused side, but the defeat highlights the gap between promising youth and the ruthlessness of senior lower-league football. Floya will take confidence from a road win in which they scored four times.
