Stabæk 4-1 Sandnes Ulf delivered a statement performance at Nadderud Stadion on 15 October 2026, as the home side powered to a convincing Norwegian 1. Divisjon victory. Stabæk were sharper, faster and more ruthless in front of goal, scoring four times before Sandnes Ulf grabbed a late consolation.

Match overview

Stabæk started on the front foot and needed only 12 minutes to open the scoring. Emil Ødegaard rose well to meet a cross from the right and headed firmly past the goalkeeper. The home side doubled their lead in the 34th minute when Henrik Røsten cut inside from the left and fired a low shot into the far corner. Sandnes Ulf struggled to cope with Stabæk’s movement, and their defensive line was repeatedly pulled out of shape.

The second half brought more of the same. Stabæk won a penalty in the 58th minute, and Emil Ødegaard stepped up to make it 3-0. Substitute Oskar Vold added a fourth in the 77th minute, finishing a flowing team move. Sandnes Ulf did manage a consolation goal in the 85th minute through Andreas Hauge, but it was little more than a footnote on a dominant night for the hosts.

Tactical story

Stabæk’s high press caused Sandnes Ulf problems all evening. The hosts won the ball back quickly in midfield and attacked with width, stretching the opposition defence before delivering crosses or cutting inside. Sandnes Ulf tried to sit deep and counter, but they were unable to keep possession long enough to relieve pressure. When they did push forward late on, Stabæk had already built an unassailable lead.

Standout players

Emil Ødegaard was the clear standout with two goals, leading the line with strength and intelligent movement. Henrik Røsten was a constant threat on the flank, while midfielder Sander Aas controlled the tempo and linked defence with attack. For Sandnes Ulf, Andreas Hauge took his consolation goal well, but the defenders endured a difficult evening against Stabæk’s quick combinations.

What it means in the table

The win boosts Stabæk’s promotion push and underlines their scoring power in the Norwegian 1. Divisjon. Sandnes Ulf, by contrast, remain in trouble near the lower end of the table and will need to tighten up defensively if they are to climb away from danger. With the season moving towards its climax, Stabæk’s goal difference could become a major asset in the race for promotion.
