Spjelkavik fell to a heavy 5-2 defeat at home to Ranheim B in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon on 4 October 2026, as the visitors delivered a ruthless attacking performance at Spjelkavik Stadion. Ranheim B’s high-pressing game and clinical finishing proved too much for the hosts, who conceded five goals for the first time this season.

Match Overview

The match started at a frantic pace, with Ranheim B pressing high and forcing Spjelkavik into early mistakes. The deadlock was broken in the 12th minute when Sander Røkke latched onto a loose ball inside the box and fired low into the bottom corner. Spjelkavik responded well and equalised in the 34th minute through Henrik Mork, who headed home a precise cross from the right.

However, parity lasted only a few minutes. Ranheim B regained the lead in the 41st minute when Magnus Holte curled a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area, and deep into first-half stoppage time, Kristian Wæhler made it 3-1 after a swift counter-attack. The visitors went into the break with a commanding lead.

Tactical Story

Ranheim B set up in a 4-3-3 formation and used their pace on the wings to stretch Spjelkavik’s defence. Their midfield trio pressed aggressively, forcing turnovers in dangerous areas and launching quick attacks. Spjelkavik, playing a 4-4-2, struggled to cope with the movement of Ranheim B’s front three, and their back line was repeatedly exposed on the counter.

After the third goal, Spjelkavik attempted to push higher up the pitch, but that only left more space behind. Ranheim B’s fourth and fifth goals came from similar patterns: a turnover in midfield, a direct pass into the channel, and a finish from inside the penalty area. The hosts’ defensive organisation unravelled in the second half, and the scoreline could have been even more emphatic.

Standout Players

Sander Røkke was a constant menace for Ranheim B, scoring the opener and linking play superbly. Magnus Holte controlled the midfield with his passing and scored a brilliant goal, while Kristian Wæhler’s pace caused problems all afternoon. For Spjelkavik, Henrik Mork was the brightest spark, scoring one and working tirelessly, but the defensive unit had a day to forget.

Table Impact and Season Context

The victory lifts Ranheim B up the Norwegian 3. Divisjon table and strengthens their push for a top-half finish. For Spjelkavik, this heavy home defeat is a setback that leaves them looking over their shoulder. They will need to tighten up defensively and rediscover their attacking rhythm quickly if they are to climb away from the danger zone.
