Sparta Sarpsborg B delivered a ruthless attacking display to thrash Bjorkelangen 7-0 in the Norwegian 3.Divisjon on 20 October 2026, with a devastating first-half spell setting up a one-sided victory at the Sparta Arena. The reserve side scored early, added two more before the break, and then turned the match into a rout with four second-half goals.

Match overview

Sparta Sarpsborg B were sharper from the first whistle, pressing high and forcing Bjorkelangen into repeated turnovers in their own half. The early goal settled any nerves and encouraged the hosts to keep committing numbers forward. Bjorkelangen simply could not cope with the pace of Sparta’s movement between the lines, and the scoreline grew steadily more comfortable for the home side.

By the time the fourth goal went in, the contest was effectively over. Sparta Sarpsborg B continued to dominate possession and territory, while Bjorkelangen’s defensive shape became increasingly stretched. The final margin could have been even larger, with several late chances narrowly missing the target.

Key moments

• 8th minute: Emil Haug opened the scoring with a low finish after a quick turnover in midfield.
• 21st minute: Jonas Berg doubled the lead, converting from close range after a cross from the right.
• 39th minute: Haug struck again, curling an effort into the far corner to make it 3-0 before half-time.
• 54th minute: Sander Lund added the fourth with a powerful run and finish from the edge of the box.
• 63rd minute: Haug completed his hat-trick, finishing confidently one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
• 76th minute: Mathias Dahl made it six with a header from a corner.
• 88th minute: Oliver Nilsen completed the scoring with a neat finish after a flowing team move.

Tactical story

Sparta Sarpsborg B played with high energy and vertical intent, often bypassing Bjorkelangen’s midfield with quick combination play. Their full-backs pushed high to create width, allowing the forwards to attack the box from different angles. The pressing structure was particularly effective, as Bjorkelangen struggled to build from the back and frequently lost possession in dangerous areas.

Bjorkelangen attempted to defend in a deep block, but once the first goal went in, their plan became difficult to sustain. The visitors were forced to step higher, which opened more space for Sparta’s midfield runners. The second half became a procession, with Sparta Sarpsborg B managing the game intelligently while still hunting more goals.

Standout players

Emil Haug was the clear headline performer with a well-taken hat-trick, showing sharp movement and clinical finishing. Jonas Berg and Sander Lund also impressed with their link-up play, while Mathias Dahl and Oliver Nilsen capped the scoring. For Bjorkelangen, it was a difficult afternoon, but their goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

Season impact

The emphatic win gives Sparta Sarpsborg B a significant boost in the Norwegian 3.Divisjon and underlines the depth available within the club. A seven-goal performance will do wonders for confidence and goal difference, which can matter in a tightly contested table. Bjorkelangen, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly and address the defensive issues exposed during a punishing evening.
