Skedsmo claimed a narrow but deserved 2-1 victory over Lillestrøm B in their Norwegian 3. Divisjon encounter, edging a tense local derby that was decided by a late goal.

The match, played on 15 September 2026, was a tight, physical affair between two sides who knew each other well. Skedsmo started brighter and took the lead, but Lillestrøm B fought back to level before the hosts found a winner in the closing stages.

Match Overview

Skedsmo controlled the opening 20 minutes, pressing Lillestrøm B’s young defence and forcing a series of corners. The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when a low cross from the left was converted at the near post. Lillestrøm B responded well, though, and equalised just before half-time with a deflected shot from the edge of the box that looped over the goalkeeper.

The second half was a midfield battle, with both teams struggling to create clear chances. Skedsmo’s manager made attacking substitutions, and the move paid off in the 84th minute when a substitute striker latched onto a through ball and finished calmly past the advancing keeper. Lillestrøm B pushed for a late equaliser but could not find a way through.

Key Moments

• 23’ – Skedsmo take the lead with a near-post finish from a low cross.
• 41’ – Lillestrøm B equalise with a deflected effort from distance.
• 84’ – Skedsmo’s substitute striker races clear and slots home the winner.
• 90+3’ – Lillestrøm B’s final chance is headed wide from a corner.

Tactical Story

Skedsmo lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and looked to get their full-backs forward early. They targeted Lillestrøm B’s inexperienced full-backs with diagonal balls and were rewarded with the opening goal. Lillestrøm B, made up largely of academy players, grew into the game and found joy in transition, but they lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

Defensively, Skedsmo were solid apart from a brief lapse for the equaliser. Their midfield shield protected the back four well, and they limited Lillestrøm B to mostly speculative efforts. The winning goal came from a direct counter-attack, perfectly executed after a Lillestrøm B corner was cleared.

Standout Players

Skedsmo’s captain, Andreas Lund, was outstanding in midfield, breaking up play and driving his team forward. The substitute who scored the winner, Jonas Bakken, made an immediate impact. For Lillestrøm B, the young goalkeeper made several good saves, and their No. 10 showed flashes of quality, but the team’s inexperience showed in the final minutes.

Season Impact

Skedsmo move up the 3. Divisjon table with this hard-fought win, keeping their hopes of a top-half finish alive. Lillestrøm B remain in a development phase, and while the result is disappointing, the minutes for their academy players are valuable. The loss leaves them needing points from upcoming fixtures to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
