The match was a contrast in styles: Skedsmo looked to use direct play and set pieces, while IF Floya preferred quick passing and movement in the final third. After a shaky opening, IF Floya imposed their rhythm and controlled the latter stages.

The second goal was the turning point. Skedsmo had been competitive until then, but Andreas Berg’s strike forced them to chase the game, leaving spaces that IF Floya exploited with the third goal.

Tactical Story

Skedsmo set up in a 4-4-2 and tried to press high early, hoping to unsettle IF Floya’s build-up. It worked for the first 20 minutes, but IF Floya adjusted by dropping their midfielders deeper to create passing options. Once they beat the initial press, they found space between Skedsmo’s midfield and defence.

IF Floya’s 4-2-3-1 formation allowed their No. 10 to drift into pockets of space. Their wingers made runs inside, pulling Skedsmo’s full-backs out of position. Defensively, IF Floya became more compact after equalising and limited Skedsmo to crosses from wide areas. The away side’s counter-pressing was excellent in the second half, repeatedly winning the ball back in dangerous areas.

Standout Players

Markus Johnsen was influential for IF Floya, scoring the equaliser and linking play throughout. Andreas Berg’s goal from distance showed his technical quality, while Sondre Olsen’s pace caused problems on the break. The IF Floya goalkeeper deserves credit for two late saves that kept the score at 3-1.

For Skedsmo, Petter Moen took his goal well and was their main threat. Their midfield struggled to maintain control after the first 30 minutes, and defensive errors proved costly. The team will need to improve its game management when leading.

Norwegian 3.Divisjon Table Impact

IF Floya’s 3-1 win strengthens their position in the Norwegian 3.Divisjon and gives them a valuable away result. Skedsmo’s defeat leaves them frustrated, especially after a promising start. In a league where away wins are hard to come by, IF Floya’s comeback will be remembered as one of their better performances of the season.

The result also highlights the importance of responding to early setbacks. Skedsmo must learn to protect leads and avoid losing momentum, while IF Floya can take confidence from their ability to score three times on the road. Both teams will meet again later in the campaign, and that return fixture will carry extra significance after this entertaining encounter.
