Ullern FC produced a commanding away performance to beat KFUM Oslo II 3–1 in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon on Saturday 3 October 2026, a result that underlined the difference in experience and ruthlessness between the two Oslo clubs on the night.

Match overview

Local derbies in Oslo always carry an extra edge, and this meeting between KFUM Oslo II and Ullern FC was no exception. KFUM's second team, a young and energetic side built around academy prospects, hosted a more seasoned Ullern outfit and found themselves punished for the small defensive lapses that separate development football from the senior game.

Ullern started the brighter of the two teams, pressing high and forcing turnovers in the attacking third. KFUM Oslo II grew into the contest and enjoyed spells of possession, but they were repeatedly undone by Ullern's direct running and clinical finishing in front of goal.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Ullern took the lead with a composed finish after a defensive mix-up in the KFUM box.
• 27th minute: KFUM Oslo II responded well and forced a fine save from the Ullern goalkeeper with a shot from distance.
• 39th minute: Ullern doubled their advantage, converting from close range after a quick counter-attack down the left.
• 56th minute: KFUM pulled one back, a well-taken goal from the edge of the area that gave the home side hope.
• 71st minute: The decisive third goal. Ullern restored their two-goal cushion with a header from a corner.
• 84th minute: KFUM pressed for a late consolation but found the Ullern defence resolute.

Tactical story

The game showcased two very different approaches. KFUM Oslo II, true to their development philosophy, looked to build patiently from the back, using their goalkeeper as an extra passing option and attempting to play through Ullern's midfield lines. It was brave, technically impressive football at times, but it also invited pressure in dangerous areas.

Ullern FC, by contrast, were happy to sit slightly deeper without the ball and then attack at pace once they won it back. Their front three pressed intelligently, cutting off passing lanes to the full-backs and forcing KFUM into longer, less accurate passes. When Ullern won possession in the middle third, they moved the ball forward quickly, often with just two or three passes before creating a shooting opportunity.

That directness proved decisive. KFUM's young defenders struggled at times with the movement of Ullern's forwards, particularly in transition, and the third goal from a set piece was a fitting summary of Ullern's greater physicality and game management.

Standout players

Ullern's centre-forward was a handful all evening, holding the ball up well, linking play and scoring the opening goal with a composed finish. Their right winger was also a constant threat with his pace and direct running, while the central defender who headed in the third goal produced a commanding performance at both ends of the pitch.

For KFUM Oslo II, the attacking midfielder who scored the consolation goal was their brightest spark, showing excellent close control and vision. The goalkeeper also made several good saves to keep the scoreline respectable, even though he was beaten three times.

What it means for the table

The three points lift Ullern FC in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon standings and continue their push for a strong finish to the season. For KFUM Oslo II, the defeat is a learning experience for a young squad still adjusting to the demands of senior football, but the performance contained enough encouraging signs to suggest better results are ahead.

Both clubs will now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures, with Ullern looking to build on a convincing derby win and KFUM eager to convert promising spells of possession into points.
