Haugesund B and Mandalskameratene played out a breathless 3-3 draw in Norwegian 3.Divisjon on 17 October 2026, with a late equaliser denying the visitors a hard-earned away win in a match that swung repeatedly from end to end.

Played under the floodlights at 20:00 local time, the contest was everything a neutral could have wanted: six goals, a series of lead changes, and a finish that kept both benches on edge until the final whistle. Haugesund B’s young side showed real attacking ambition, while Mandalskameratene demonstrated the kind of away-day resilience that can be valuable over a long 3.Divisjon season.

Match overview

Haugesund B began with purpose and were rewarded for their early pressure when Sondre Nilsen found space inside the penalty area and opened the scoring in the 12th minute. The home side’s movement in wide areas was causing problems, but Mandalskameratene stayed calm and gradually worked their way back into the contest.

The equaliser arrived in the 28th minute through Erik Våge, whose composed finish capped a well-worked move through midfield. Haugesund B responded before half-time, though, restoring their lead when Jonas Hauge converted from close range in the 41st minute. At that point, the hosts looked the more likely side to pull away.

Instead, the second half turned into a tactical battle of momentum. Mandalskameratene levelled again through Mathias Lunde in the 54th minute, and when Kristian Åsen put them ahead in the 71st minute, the visitors seemed to have seized control. Haugesund B, however, kept pushing and were rewarded in the 88th minute when Nilsen struck his second goal of the night to make it 3-3.

Tactical story

Haugesund B’s approach was built on energy and quick transitions. Their midfield pressed aggressively, looking to force mistakes in Mandalskameratene’s build-up, and their wide players repeatedly stretched the visitors’ back line. That intensity produced plenty of chances, but it also left space behind for Mandalskameratene to exploit on the counter.

Mandalskameratene were more compact and patient. They absorbed pressure, kept their shape, and looked dangerous whenever they could release their forwards into one-on-one situations. The visitors’ second-half spell was their best period of the match, but their inability to hold the lead in the closing minutes will frustrate them.

Standout performers

Sondre Nilsen was the obvious hero for Haugesund B, scoring twice and remaining a constant threat with his movement inside the box. Jonas Hauge also impressed with his link-up play and his first-half goal. For Mandalskameratene, Erik Våge and Mathias Lunde were central to their comeback, while Kristian Åsen’s go-ahead goal underlined the visitors’ ability to punish defensive lapses.

Both goalkeepers deserve credit as well. Despite conceding three times each, they made important saves during spells when the game threatened to run away from their sides.

Season impact

A point apiece leaves both teams with mixed feelings. Haugesund B will value the character shown in fighting back late, especially from a young reserve side still developing its consistency. Mandalskameratene, meanwhile, will see the draw as two points dropped after taking the lead with less than 20 minutes remaining.

In the wider 3.Divisjon table, the result is another reminder of how competitive the division can be. Neither side was able to secure the win, but the performance offered plenty of encouragement for the matches ahead.
