Gjøvik-Lyn 5-0 Rælingen: Hosts Run Riot in Norwegian 3. Divisjon

Gjøvik-Lyn (Gjovik Lyn) produced a ruthless home performance on Saturday, October 3, 2026, sweeping aside Rælingen (Raelingen) 5-0 in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon. The 20:00 kickoff turned into a one-sided contest long before the final whistle, with the hosts scoring three times before half-time and adding two more after the break to complete a confident, statement-making victory.

From the opening minutes, Gjøvik-Lyn pressed high, moved the ball quickly through midfield and refused to let Rælingen settle. The visitors struggled to keep possession, and once the first goal arrived, the match tilted decisively in the home side’s favour.

First-half blitz sets the tone

Gjøvik-Lyn opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Elias Skoglund latched onto a through ball and finished low past the goalkeeper. The home side doubled the lead in the 34th minute, Skoglund again finding space inside the penalty area and converting with composure. Just before the interval, Markus Pedersen made it 3-0 with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, capping a dominant first-half display.

Second-half control and late flourish

Rælingen tried to reset after the break, but Gjøvik-Lyn remained aggressive. Jonas Nyberg added a fourth in the 58th minute, finishing a flowing move that began with a turnover in midfield. Sander Holt completed the scoring in the 77th minute, heading home from a corner to make it 5-0 and underline the hosts’ set-piece threat.

Tactical story

The match was decided by Gjøvik-Lyn’s intensity out of possession. Their midfield pressed in compact units, forcing Rælingen into hurried passes and long clearances. When they won the ball back, the hosts attacked vertically, targeting the channels behind the visiting full-backs. Rælingen defended deep but could not cope with the constant movement of Skoglund and the supporting runners.

Standout players

Skoglund was the clear attacking focal point with two goals, while Pedersen controlled the tempo in midfield and Nyberg consistently broke lines with his runs. At the back, Gjøvik-Lyn’s defensive unit kept a clean sheet and limited Rælingen to very few clear chances.

What the result means

The three points strengthen Gjøvik-Lyn’s position in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon table and give the squad a significant boost in goal difference. For Rælingen, it is a difficult evening to move past, but the focus will quickly turn to regrouping defensively ahead of their next fixture. In a league where home form and goal difference can shape the season, this 5-0 win could prove valuable.
