Førde 6-2 Fyllingsdalen: Hosts Run Riot in Eight-Goal Thriller

Førde delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the Norwegian 3. Divisjon season so far, thrashing Fyllingsdalen 6-2 on Saturday, October 3, 2026. A hat-trick from Mathias Gjerde, a brace from Sondre Høydal, and a goal from Eirik Ulvestad powered the home side to a statement victory.

Match Overview

Førde started at a relentless pace and never allowed Fyllingsdalen to settle. The hosts pressed aggressively, moved the ball quickly through midfield, and attacked the penalty area with numbers. By the time the first half was over, the pattern of the match was clear: Førde were sharper, stronger in the duels, and far more clinical in front of goal.

Fyllingsdalen did not fold completely. They scored twice and created a few other half-chances, but every time they threatened to build momentum, Førde responded with another goal. The six-goal display was a strong message about the team’s attacking potential and their goal-difference ambitions in the league table.

Tactical Story

Førde’s 4-3-3 shape caused problems from the first whistle. The front three rotated constantly, dragging Fyllingsdalen’s defenders out of position and opening space for midfield runners. The hosts also dominated set pieces, with Gjerde’s header highlighting their aerial threat. Fyllingsdalen struggled to track runners and gave the ball away too easily in dangerous areas.

Despite the heavy scoreline, Fyllingsdalen showed some attacking intent. They found success when they played direct balls behind Førde’s high line, and Løvås was a constant nuisance with his movement. But defensively they could not cope with Førde’s tempo, especially during the opening 20 minutes and the early part of the second half.

Standout Players

Gjerde was the obvious star of the show, combining sharp movement with clinical finishing. Høydal contributed two goals and an assist, while Ulvestad controlled the midfield tempo and scored a memorable goal. For Fyllingsdalen, Løvås deserved credit for his two-goal performance in a losing cause.

What the Result Means

The win gives Førde a significant boost in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon standings and a healthy boost to their goal difference, which could be crucial in a tight promotion or playoff race. Fyllingsdalen must regroup quickly, as conceding six goals will raise questions about their defensive structure. For neutrals, it was a reminder of how entertaining this level of Norwegian football can be.
