Odd Grenland 2 claimed a hard-fought 1-0 away victory against Flekkerøy IL in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon on Friday evening, extending their unbeaten run and climbing further up the table.

Match Overview

The decisive moment came in the 52nd minute when Sander Johansen rose highest to meet a corner and powered a header into the bottom corner. It was a goal that rewarded Odd Grenland 2's patient build-up play and punished Flekkerøy IL for a momentary lapse in concentration at a set piece.

Flekkerøy IL dominated possession in the second half, registering 11 shots to their opponents' six, but they found no way past a resolute defensive display. The hosts' best chance fell to Erik Lunde in the 74th minute, but his low drive was expertly tipped around the post by Odd Grenland 2's goalkeeper, Ole Kristian Berg.

Key Moments

• 52' — Sander Johansen heads home from a corner to give Odd Grenland 2 the lead.
• 74' — Ole Kristian Berg makes a brilliant save to deny Erik Lunde.
• 88' — Flekkerøy IL's last-ditch effort is cleared off the line by a retreating defender.

Tactical Story

Odd Grenland 2 lined up in a disciplined 4-4-2, prioritising defensive shape and quick transitions. They conceded territory but rarely allowed clear sights of goal, with the centre-back pairing commanding the aerial duels. Flekkerøy IL, playing a 4-3-3, tried to stretch the play through their wingers, but their crosses were repeatedly repelled. The game became a classic case of a well-organised away side frustrating a home team that lacked a Plan B.

Standout Players

Sander Johansen (Odd Grenland 2) — The match-winner was a threat all evening, and his header was the difference. Ole Kristian Berg (Odd Grenland 2) — The goalkeeper produced a man-of-the-match performance, making five saves to preserve the clean sheet. For Flekkerøy IL, Erik Lunde was the most dangerous outlet, but he was denied by Berg's heroics.

Season Impact

Odd Grenland 2 move up to fourth in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon standings, firmly in the hunt for a promotion play-off spot. Flekkerøy IL remain eighth, a comfortable mid-table position but one that leaves them looking over their shoulder. The away win is a significant psychological boost for Odd Grenland 2, who have now kept three consecutive clean sheets. Flekkerøy IL, meanwhile, will be frustrated by their inability to convert dominance into points.
