FC Lyn Oslo B claimed a 3-1 home victory over Orn-Horten in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon on 20 October 2026, producing a patient and increasingly dominant performance to take all three points. The young Lyn side had to work through a competitive first half before pulling away after the break, with their pressing and energy eventually proving too much for the visitors.

Match overview

Lyn B controlled much of the ball early on, moving it quickly through midfield and looking to release their wide players in behind. Orn-Horten sat compactly, defended the central areas well and tried to threaten on the counter. The hosts took the lead midway through the first half after a neat combination opened up the defence, but Orn-Horten responded well and equalised before the interval to leave the game finely balanced at 1-1.

The second half was a different story. Lyn B raised the tempo, won more second balls and pinned Orn-Horten deeper. Once the home side retook the lead just before the hour, the match tilted decisively in their favour, and a third goal late in the second half sealed a deserved win.

Key moments

• 18th minute: FC Lyn Oslo B open the scoring with a low finish after a quick passing exchange in and around the penalty area.
• 41st minute: Orn-Horten equalise from a well-delivered set piece, punishing a rare lapse in the home defence.
• 57th minute: Lyn B retake the lead as a burst down the right ends with a composed finish at the back post.
• 78th minute: The hosts add a third, capitalising on a turnover and moving the ball forward with real purpose.
• 89th minute: Orn-Horten push forward in search of a lifeline, but Lyn B manage the closing minutes comfortably.

Tactical story

Lyn B’s approach was built on aggressive pressing and quick ball circulation. Their midfielders continually offered angles, allowing the full-backs to push high and create overloads in wide areas. Orn-Horten’s deep block worked well for long spells in the first half, but the visitors struggled to sustain those defensive efforts after the restart. As the game stretched, Lyn B’s younger legs and sharper passing made the difference.

Standout performers

The Lyn B central midfielder dictated the tempo throughout, linking defence and attack and repeatedly breaking through Orn-Horten’s first line of pressure. The home side’s right-sided attacker was a constant threat in one-on-one situations, while Orn-Horten’s goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the scoreline respectable. The visitors’ captain also impressed with his work rate and leadership in a difficult second half.

Season impact

The three points give FC Lyn Oslo B valuable momentum in a competitive 3. Divisjon campaign. For a development-focused side, the result was as encouraging for the performance as for the scoreline, with several young players showing composure in key moments. Orn-Horten, meanwhile, will take lessons from a first half that showed they can compete, but will need to manage games better when the tempo rises after the break.
