Fauske-Sprint endured a difficult evening at home on September 27, 2026, falling 0-3 to Tromsø B in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon. The visitors produced a clinical second-half display to secure all three points and leave the hosts with mounting concerns in the league table.

Match Overview

Played under the lights at Fauske Stadion, the contest pitted Fauske-Sprint's battle-hardened senior side against the youthful energy of Tromsø B, the reserve team of Tromsø IL. While the hosts started with intent, Tromsø B's superior pace and pressing gradually took control. The scoreline remained goalless until the 32nd minute, when a quick turnover in midfield allowed the visitors to break the deadlock.

Key Moments

• 32' – Tromsø B take the lead: A misplaced pass in Fauske's defensive third was pounced on by Tromsø's attacking midfielder, who slotted calmly past the goalkeeper.
• 55' – Doubling the advantage: A swift counter-attack down the right ended with a low cross converted at the back post.
• 78' – Sealing the win: A direct free-kick from 20 yards curled into the top corner, leaving the Fauske goalkeeper with no chance.

Tactical Story

Fauske-Sprint set up in a 4-4-2, hoping to use their physical presence to disrupt Tromsø B's rhythm. However, the visitors' 4-3-3 formation, with high wingers and an aggressive press, forced repeated turnovers in the middle third. Tromsø B's midfield trio dominated possession, and their quick vertical passing repeatedly exposed the space behind Fauske's full-backs. The hosts improved briefly after the break but were undone by their own errors.

Standout Players

Tromsø B's No. 10 was the orchestrator, registering a goal and an assist while completing the most passes in the final third. Their right winger was a constant menace, and the defence kept a well-earned clean sheet. For Fauske-Sprint, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, but the team's attacking unit struggled to create clear chances.

Season Impact

The defeat leaves Fauske-Sprint deeper in the relegation battle in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon. With points at a premium, the club must quickly address its home form. Tromsø B, meanwhile, continues to develop its young talents and climbs into a more comfortable mid-table position. The result also highlights the gap in intensity between reserve-team football and the senior fourth tier.
