Fana power past Fyllingsdalen with 4-1 home win

Fana produced a strong attacking display in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon on Saturday 17 October 2026, beating Fyllingsdalen 4-1. The home side scored early, responded well after conceding just before half-time and pulled away in the second period to claim a deserved three points.

Fana’s performance was built on quick ball movement and purposeful runs from midfield. They looked dangerous whenever they attacked with width, and Fyllingsdalen struggled to cope with the pace of the home side’s transitions. Although the visitors briefly made the contest interesting with a goal before the interval, Fana reasserted control after the break.

How the match unfolded

Fana took the lead in the 12th minute and doubled their advantage midway through the first half. Fyllingsdalen found a response just before half-time, giving themselves hope of a comeback, but Fana restored their two-goal cushion in the 63rd minute. A fourth goal late on completed the scoring and reflected the home side’s superiority over the 90 minutes.

Fyllingsdalen worked hard and had moments of possession, particularly after their goal, but they were unable to sustain pressure. Fana’s defensive shape held firm in the final stages, and the home side managed the game well once the fourth goal went in.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Fana opened the scoring with a well-worked attack and a composed finish inside the penalty area.
• 34th minute: The home side doubled their lead after winning the ball high and attacking quickly.
• 44th minute: Fyllingsdalen pulled one back, converting a rare clear chance to make it 2-1 at the break.
• 63rd minute: Fana restored their two-goal advantage with a header from a wide delivery.
• 81st minute: A fourth goal sealed the win, capping a flowing counter-attacking move.

Tactical story

Fana’s midfield controlled the central areas and repeatedly released their wide players into space. Their ability to switch play quickly stretched Fyllingsdalen’s defensive block, creating gaps between the full-backs and centre-backs. When Fyllingsdalen attempted to press higher after the break, Fana used direct passes over the top to bypass the pressure.

Fyllingsdalen’s best spell came shortly before and after their goal, when they forced Fana into a few rushed clearances. However, they could not maintain that intensity. Fana’s compact defensive line and strong work rate in midfield ensured the visitors were limited to speculative efforts for much of the second half.

Standout performers and season impact

Fana’s attacking players shared the responsibility well, with the front line causing problems throughout. The midfield also played a key role, winning second balls and setting the tempo. At the back, Fana recovered from a shaky moment before half-time to produce a controlled second-half display.

The 4-1 result strengthens Fana’s position in the Norwegian 3. Divisjon and gives them valuable momentum. Fyllingsdalen, meanwhile, will be disappointed by the manner in which the game slipped away after their first-half goal and will look to respond in their next outing.
