Key moments

Sileks broke the deadlock midway through the first half when a quick move down the right created space inside the penalty area, and the resulting shot was guided beyond the goalkeeper. The goal gave the home side confidence, and they almost doubled the lead before the break through a header from a corner that narrowly cleared the crossbar.

Shkendija Haracine improved after the interval and enjoyed more possession, but they struggled to create clear openings against Sileks’ compact defensive block. The decisive moment came in the second half when Sileks won the ball high up the pitch and broke quickly, finishing with a low strike to make it 2-0. Shkendija pushed late in search of a route back into the game, but Sileks managed the closing stages comfortably.

Tactical story

Sileks set up with a disciplined shape, allowing Shkendija to have the ball in deeper areas while closing the passing lanes into midfield. Their wide players worked hard defensively, and the central defenders dealt well with crosses and second balls. When Sileks won possession, they looked to attack quickly through the channels rather than overcomplicate their build-up.

Shkendija Haracine’s best spells came when they switched play from side to side and drew Sileks out of position, but they lacked the final touch in the attacking third. Sileks’ ability to defend their box and counter with purpose proved the difference between the two sides.

Standout performers

Sileks’ goalkeeper was central to the clean sheet, commanding his area and making a crucial save in the second half. The midfield duo provided energy and control, while the forward line combined well for both goals. For Shkendija Haracine, the goalkeeper kept the score down with several saves, and their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

What the result means

The victory strengthens Sileks’ position in the North Macedonia First Football League standings and gives them momentum in the head-to-head battle with one of their direct competitors. A clean sheet will be especially pleasing for the coaching staff, as it shows the team can protect a lead and manage a game.

For Shkendija Haracine, the defeat is a setback, but the league campaign offers little time to dwell on it. They will need to find more penetration in the final third and respond quickly in their next fixture.
