Shkendija Tetovo strengthened their credentials in the North Macedonia First Football League with a 3-1 away win at FK Skopje on 18 October 2026. The visitors combined controlled possession with sharp finishing, overcoming a brief Skopje response to secure a convincing result.

Match overview

Shkendija Tetovo started the brighter of the two sides, pressing FK Skopje high and forcing errors in the home team’s build-up. The opening goal arrived after a period of sustained pressure, with Shkendija’s wide players stretching the defence and creating space centrally. FK Skopje responded well, equalising through a set-piece routine that briefly changed the mood inside the stadium.

Rather than retreating, Shkendija regained the lead before half-time with a measured attacking move. In the second half, they managed the game intelligently, slowing the tempo when needed and attacking with purpose when space appeared. A third goal late in the contest sealed the victory and left FK Skopje with little time to respond.

Key moments

• Shkendija opened the scoring after a sustained spell of high pressing.
• FK Skopje equalised from a well-delivered set piece.
• Shkendija restored their lead before the interval with a composed finish.
• A second-half save kept the visitors in control at a crucial moment.
• Shkendija’s third goal late on put the result beyond doubt.

Tactical story

Shkendija’s midfield diamond caused problems for FK Skopje, allowing the visitors to dominate central areas and switch play quickly. Their full-backs provided width, while the forwards made intelligent runs behind a defence that struggled to hold a consistent line. FK Skopje’s best moments came from set pieces and direct counter-attacks, but they could not sustain pressure for long enough to truly threaten a comeback.

Standout performers

Shkendija’s attacking midfielder was at the heart of most positive moves, linking midfield and attack with sharp passing. The winger who stretched the play consistently created overloads, and the centre-back pairing handled Skopje’s late aerial threat well. For FK Skopje, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, while the team’s set-piece delivery was their most dangerous weapon.

Season impact

The three points boost Shkendija Tetovo’s position in the North Macedonia First Football League standings and reinforce their reputation as one of the division’s most complete sides. FK Skopje remain with work to do, particularly defensively against teams that press aggressively. This 3-1 result will be viewed as a professional away performance from Shkendija and a difficult lesson for the home side.
