Match Overview

Vardar set up in a compact 4-4-2, looking to deny central space and strike on the counter. Shkendija Haracine saw more of the ball but struggled to turn possession into clear chances. The hosts' plan worked almost perfectly: they defended deep when needed, then broke quickly through the wings.

Key Moments

• 23rd minute: Vardar Skopje took the lead from a free-kick, their captain meeting the delivery with a powerful header.
• 52nd minute: Shkendija Haracine thought they had equalised, but the goal was ruled out for offside by the assistant referee.

Tactical Story

Shkendija Haracine dominated possession but found it difficult to penetrate Vardar's defensive block. Their wide players delivered crosses, yet Vardar's centre-backs dealt with the danger comfortably. Vardar's counter-attacking was sharp and efficient; they did not need many chances to score twice. The second goal was a perfect example of their game plan, turning defence into attack in seconds.

Standout Players

Vardar's captain led by example, scoring the opener and organising the defence. The goalkeeper was reliable when called upon, and the striker's pace caused problems throughout. For Shkendija Haracine, the midfielder who controlled possession was their best performer, but the attack lacked a cutting edge. The disallowed goal was the moment that changed the mood of the match.
