Rabotnicki Skopje Win Five-Goal North Macedonia Cup Tie

Rabotnicki Skopje advanced in the North Macedonia Cup after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Kamenica-Sasa on Wednesday night. The home side built a two-goal lead, survived a determined comeback, and found a late winner to settle a cup tie that swung one way and then the other in front of an engaged crowd.

The scoreline tells the story of a match that was never fully secure for either side. Rabotnicki’s early control suggested a comfortable evening, but Kamenica-Sasa’s resilience turned the contest into a tense knockout battle. In the end, Rabotnicki’s extra quality in the final third made the difference.

Match Overview

Rabotnicki Skopje started with intent and moved the ball quickly through midfield, forcing Kamenica-Sasa into a deep defensive shape. The early pressure paid off when Rabotnicki opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes, and they doubled the advantage midway through the first half with a well-timed run into the penalty area.

Kamenica-Sasa, however, refused to fold. They improved after the break, found a way back into the game through a set-piece, and then equalised with a counter-attacking goal that exposed Rabotnicki’s stretched defence. The tie looked destined for extra time until Rabotnicki produced the decisive moment late in the second half.

• 54th minute: Kamenica-Sasa pulled one back from a corner, heading in at the far post.

Tactical Story

Rabotnicki Skopje controlled the first half by dominating possession and using their full-backs to stretch Kamenica-Sasa’s defensive block. Their midfield rotation created space between the lines, and the two-goal cushion reflected their superiority during that period. The game changed when Kamenica-Sasa began pressing higher after half-time, forcing Rabotnicki into rushed decisions at the back.

Kamenica-Sasa’s comeback was built on set-piece threat and fast transitions. They defended deeper and looked to release their forwards into wide channels whenever Rabotnicki lost the ball in advanced areas. Rabotnicki responded by slowing the tempo in the final 15 minutes and returning to a more compact shape, which allowed them to regain control before the late winner.

Standout Players

Rabotnicki’s attacking midfielder was central to their best moments, linking play and creating chances in the final third. The match-winner showed composure under pressure, while the goalkeeper made an important save at 2-2 to keep the home side level. For Kamenica-Sasa, the centre-forward led the comeback with intelligent movement and physical presence, and their goalkeeper kept the tie alive with several sharp stops.

Cup Impact

The victory keeps Rabotnicki Skopje’s North Macedonia Cup campaign alive and gives the squad confidence ahead of the next domestic fixture. Kamenica-Sasa exit with credit after a brave second-half display, but the result underlines how costly small defensive lapses can be in knockout football. Rabotnicki will now look to carry the attacking intensity of this performance into their league commitments.
