NK Jadran Kaštel Sućurac 1-0 NK Imotski — NK Jadran Kaštel Sućurac claimed a narrow 1-0 win over NK Imotski in the Croatian Third Football League on 4 October 2026. A single goal was enough to separate the sides at Stadion Kaštel Sućurac, as the home team produced a gritty, organised performance to secure all three points against a tough Imotski outfit.

Match Overview

The match began at a frantic pace, with both teams eager to assert themselves in midfield. Jadran Kaštel Sućurac, playing in front of their home fans, pressed high and forced Imotski into several early turnovers. The visitors gradually settled and began to string passes together, but clear-cut chances were rare in a cagey first half. Jadran’s defence, marshalled by captain Ante Kovačević, held a disciplined line, catching Imotski forwards offside on multiple occasions. The breakthrough finally came midway through the second period, and from that moment the hosts defended their lead with maturity.

Key Moments

The only goal of the game arrived in the 57th minute. Following a patient build-up on the left, Jadran’s full-back Stipe Roglić delivered a deep cross into the box. The ball was only half-cleared by the Imotski defence, and midfielder Nikola Jurić pounced on the loose ball, drilling a low shot through a crowd of bodies and into the net. Imotski responded with intent, pushing numbers forward and forcing two corner kicks in quick succession. Their best opportunity fell to striker Mateo Šimunović in the 74th minute, but his header from six yards clipped the top of the crossbar. Jadran then introduced fresh defensive legs and saw out five minutes of stoppage time without further alarm.

Tactical Story

Jadran Kaštel Sućurac set up in a flexible 4-2-3-1 that became a 4-5-1 without possession, looking to congest the central areas and force Imotski wide. The plan worked effectively: Imotski’s playmakers were given little time on the ball, and their crosses were dealt with by Jadran’s aerially strong centre-backs. In attack, Jadran focused on quick transitions and overlapping runs from full-backs, which eventually produced the winning goal. Imotski, meanwhile, struggled to find a rhythm. Their build-up was slow, and when they did get into promising positions, the final ball lacked precision. The visitors’ manager made attacking substitutions, but Jadran’s compact shape and collective work rate proved too difficult to break down.

Standout Players

• Nikola Jurić (Jadran Kaštel Sućurac): Scored the decisive goal and was a constant energetic presence in midfield, winning tackles and driving his team forward.
• Ante Kovačević (Jadran Kaštel Sućurac): The captain led by example, making a series of important interceptions and headers to preserve the clean sheet.
• Stipe Roglić (Jadran Kaštel Sućurac): Provided the assist and was a threat going forward all evening, combining well with the left winger.
• Mateo Šimunović (NK Imotski): The striker was his team’s most dangerous player, holding the ball up well and coming closest to scoring with a header that hit the bar.

Table and Season Impact

This victory gives Jadran Kaštel Sućurac a valuable boost in the Croatian Third Football League standings, moving them up the table and strengthening their position in the mid-to-upper reaches of the division. For NK Imotski, the defeat is a frustrating blow, especially after a competitive display that yielded no points. Imotski will need to improve their efficiency in the final third if they are to climb away from the lower half of the table. Jadran, on the other hand, will take great confidence from a clean sheet and a disciplined home win as they aim to build momentum in the coming weeks.

What’s Next

Jadran Kaštel Sućurac will look to carry this form into their next fixture, where they will face another stern test on the road. NK Imotski return home hoping to bounce back immediately, with their coaching staff likely to focus on sharpening the team’s finishing and set-piece defending. Both sides remain fully engaged in a long third-tier campaign, and the margin between victory and defeat continues to be razor-thin in the Croatian Third Football League.
