Quick Boys delivered a strong home performance in the Netherlands Tweede Divisie on Saturday night, defeating HSV Hoek 3-1 at Sportpark Nieuw Zuid with a controlled display in front of their own supporters.

Quick Boys set the tone early, moved the ball with purpose from wide areas, and built a two-goal lead before half-time. Hoek briefly threatened a comeback after pulling one back, but the hosts restored their advantage late on to seal a deserved victory.

Match overview

The 21:00 kick-off saw Quick Boys start aggressively, pressing Hoek’s defenders and forcing turnovers in the attacking half. Their wide players caused problems throughout, stretching the visiting back line and creating space for midfield runners.

Hoek improved after the interval and found a goal that gave them hope, but Quick Boys responded with composure. The home side managed the closing stages well and added a third goal to remove any doubt.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Quick Boys took the lead after a flowing move down the left, finished with a low strike at the near post.
• 41st minute: The hosts doubled their advantage from a corner, with a powerful header finding the net.
• 67th minute: HSV Hoek pulled one back with a well-placed effort from the edge of the area.
• 88th minute: Quick Boys sealed the win on the counter-attack, finishing calmly after breaking through the middle.

Tactical story

Quick Boys’ attacking width was the key tactical feature. Their full-backs pushed high, the wingers stayed wide, and Hoek’s defence was repeatedly pulled out of shape. The hosts also won the midfield battle, recovering second balls and turning them into quick attacks.

Hoek’s goal came during their best spell of the match, but they struggled to sustain pressure. Quick Boys’ ability to counter at speed in the final minutes showed why they were the stronger side on the night.

Standout performers

Quick Boys’ left-sided attacker was a constant menace, contributing to the opening goal and stretching the defence throughout. The centre-back who scored the second goal also produced a commanding defensive display. For Hoek, their midfielder’s goal was a bright moment, but the visitors lacked the control needed to take anything from the game.

Season impact

The win strengthens Quick Boys’ position in the Tweede Divisie and highlights their home form as a major asset. HSV Hoek will rue conceding at key moments, especially just before half-time and late in the match. Quick Boys now look ahead with confidence, while Hoek must regroup for their next fixture.
