USV Hercules and TEC produced an entertaining six-goal encounter in the Netherlands Derde Divisie, with TEC emerging as 4-2 winners on 20 September 2026. The away side's attacking efficiency proved decisive in a match that offered plenty of chances at both ends.

Match Overview

The Derde Divisie is the fourth tier of Dutch football, a division known for its mix of traditional amateur clubs, ambitious promotion chasers, and technically gifted sides. USV Hercules, a club with a long history in Dutch football, hosted TEC in a fixture that delivered goals and drama. TEC's four-goal performance away from home was the standout feature of the contest.

With six goals in total, the match was an open affair in which both teams created opportunities. The difference came down to finishing quality and the ability to capitalise on defensive mistakes.

Key Moments

TEC took control of the game by scoring consistently across the match, preventing Hercules from building sustained momentum. Each time the home side found a way back into the contest, TEC responded. That ability to answer immediately is often the mark of a team with strong attacking confidence.

• TEC: four goals scored, showing quality in the final third.
• USV Hercules: two goals scored, but gaps at the back proved costly.
• Final score: USV Hercules 2-4 TEC.

Tactical Story

TEC's approach was characterised by quick transitions and direct attacking play. When Hercules lost possession in midfield, TEC moved the ball forward rapidly, exploiting the spaces left behind by the home side's advancing full-backs. That verticality was the source of much of their success.

USV Hercules had spells of control, particularly when they managed to slow the tempo and build attacks patiently. Their two goals came from well-constructed moves, demonstrating that they were capable of hurting TEC. However, defensively they struggled to handle TEC's speed on the break, and that ultimately decided the match.

Standout Performers

TEC's attacking unit deserves credit for the four-goal return, with multiple players contributing and the forward line linking effectively. The midfield's ability to win the ball and launch quick attacks was central to the game plan. For USV Hercules, the goalscorers showed good instincts in front of goal, and the team's best passages of play offered encouragement despite the defeat.

Season Impact

For TEC, this away win is a valuable result in the Derde Divisie, adding three points and boosting goal difference. The team's ability to score four goals on the road underlines their attacking credentials and will give them confidence for the fixtures ahead.

USV Hercules, meanwhile, will be frustrated to have conceded four at home despite scoring twice. The match highlighted the importance of defensive balance, especially when committing players forward. Closing the gaps between defence and midfield will be a priority in training.

Head-to-Head and Season Context

Matches between Hercules and TEC have historically been competitive, and this meeting added another goal-filled chapter. In a division where the margins between promotion contention and mid-table are small, results like this can have a meaningful influence on the mood and momentum of both clubs' seasons.

What's Next

TEC will aim to maintain their attacking form and build a run of results in the Derde Divisie. USV Hercules will focus on defensive improvement while retaining the attacking qualities that produced two goals. Both teams will take away clear lessons from a match that showcased the entertainment value of Dutch fourth-tier football.
