Gemert 0-2 FC Lisse: Clinical FC Lisse Take Away Win

FC Lisse secured a solid 2-0 away victory against Gemert in the Netherlands Derde Divisie on Sunday, 4 October 2026. The 20:00 fixture was decided by two well-taken goals, with FC Lisse defending intelligently and punishing Gemert’s mistakes at key moments.

Gemert had spells of possession and created a few half-chances, but they lacked the cutting edge needed to break down a disciplined FC Lisse defence. The visitors were more direct and more clinical, and that difference proved decisive in the final scoreline.

Match overview

The first half was evenly contested for long periods, with Gemert trying to impose themselves through central midfield and FC Lisse looking to attack quickly on the wings. FC Lisse took the lead before half-time, capitalising on a loose ball and finishing with confidence. That goal forced Gemert to chase the game after the break.

Gemert pushed more players forward in the second half, but FC Lisse’s defensive organisation held firm. The visitors doubled their lead with a well-worked counter-attack, and from that point on, they managed the game professionally, slowing the tempo and limiting Gemert’s space.

Key moments

• 31st minute – FC Lisse take the lead: A misplaced pass in midfield allowed FC Lisse to break, and their forward finished low into the corner.
• 54th minute – Gemert’s best chance: A header from a corner forced a fine save from the FC Lisse goalkeeper.
• 69th minute – FC Lisse double the lead: A quick counter-attack ended with a composed finish inside the penalty area.
• 82nd minute – Gemert denied again: A shot from distance was tipped over the bar as FC Lisse kept their clean sheet intact.

Tactical story

FC Lisse set up to be compact and dangerous on the break. They defended in a mid-block, allowed Gemert possession in harmless areas and then pressed aggressively when the ball moved into midfield. That strategy forced turnovers and created the space for their two goals.

Gemert’s build-up play was patient but predictable at times. They moved the ball from side to side without consistently breaking lines, and their crossing was dealt with well by FC Lisse’s centre-backs. When Gemert did find space, the final pass or shot was lacking. FC Lisse, by contrast, were ruthless when their opportunities arrived.

Standout players

FC Lisse’s goalkeeper was one of the key figures, making important saves in both halves to preserve the clean sheet. Their forward was also decisive, scoring the opening goal and leading the counter-attacks with intelligent movement. In midfield, FC Lisse’s captain controlled the tempo and helped his team stay organised under pressure.

For Gemert, the central defender was their most reliable performer, winning several duels and stepping out of defence to intercept passes. The substitute winger added energy in the second half and created the team’s best chance with a dangerous cross.

What the result means

FC Lisse leave with three valuable away points in the Netherlands Derde Divisie, strengthening their position and boosting confidence. For Gemert, the 0-2 defeat is a frustrating result, especially because they had moments to get back into the match. They will need to improve their efficiency in the final third if they are to turn possession into points in the coming weeks.
