DVS 33 Ermelo and VV Eemdijk played out a breathless 2-2 draw in the Netherlands Derde Divisie, sharing the points after a contest that swung back and forth and left both camps with plenty to reflect on. Played on 10 October 2026 with a 21:00 kick-off, the match delivered exactly what followers of the Dutch fourth tier have come to expect: commitment, tempo, and a finish that kept supporters on edge until the final whistle.

Match Overview

Both sides arrived with a clear intent to attack, and the opening exchanges set the tone for an open, end-to-end affair. DVS 33 Ermelo looked to use home advantage to dictate the rhythm, pushing numbers forward and looking to stretch the Eemdijk back line with quick switches of play. Eemdijk, for their part, were compact without the ball and dangerous in transition, happy to absorb pressure before springing forward with pace.

The stalemate was broken with the kind of goal that defines the Derde Divisie — a scrappy, hard-fought moment won through sheer persistence rather than intricate build-up. From there, the game opened up considerably, with both teams trading chances and, eventually, goals.

Key Moments

• First half: DVS 33 Ermelo took the initiative early, pressing high and forcing Eemdijk into hurried clearances. The home side's breakthrough came midway through the half.
• Response: Eemdijk answered before the interval, punishing a momentary lapse in concentration at the back and levelling the score.
• Second-half swing: The away side edged ahead after the restart, converting a well-worked attacking move to silence the home crowd.
• Late equaliser: DVS 33 Ermelo refused to lie down, finding the equaliser and setting up a tense final stretch.

Tactical Story

The match was a classic clash of styles. DVS 33 Ermelo favoured patient possession, building through midfield and looking for overloads on the flanks. Their full-backs pushed high, which created chances but also left space in behind — space that Eemdijk exploited ruthlessly on the counter.

Eemdijk's organisation was impressive for long spells. Their midfield screened the defence effectively and their forwards worked tirelessly to press the home build-up. The weakness, as the game wore on, was fatigue: the high-intensity approach that had served them so well began to falter in the closing stages, and DVS 33 Ermelo capitalised.

Standout Performers

For the home side, the attacking midfielders were the most influential figures, constantly finding pockets of space between the lines and linking play. Their willingness to keep running into the final minutes was central to salvaging a point.

Eemdijk's forwards deserve credit for their clinical finishing and their relentless work without the ball. The visiting goalkeeper also produced a string of important saves, particularly in the second half, to keep his side in front for as long as they were.

Season Impact

A draw is rarely a disaster in the Derde Divisie, and both teams will take something from this performance. DVS 33 Ermelo showed character to come from behind, a trait that matters enormously in a league where momentum can shift dramatically over the winter months. Eemdijk, meanwhile, demonstrated they can compete away from home against difficult opposition — albeit with a reminder that concentration must be maintained for the full 90 minutes.

With the standings still fluid at this stage of the campaign, both clubs will view this as a point gained rather than two dropped, and will look to build on the display in their next fixtures.

What's Next

DVS 33 Ermelo will take confidence from their resilience and will be targeting a win in their next outing to climb the table. VV Eemdijk return home knowing that their away form is a genuine asset, but they will need to close out games more effectively if they are to challenge at the top end of the division.
