Zimbru Chisinau B secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Vulturii Cutezatori in the Moldovan Liga 1 on 16 October 2026, with a single goal proving enough to separate the sides in a tightly contested encounter. The victory keeps Zimbru's reserve side in good form and extends their unbeaten run on home turf.

Match Overview

Unlike some of the higher-scoring fixtures in the division, this was a game defined by defensive discipline and tactical caution. Zimbru Chisinau B controlled possession for long spells but found Vulturii Cutezatori stubborn and well-organised. The visitors sat deep, looking to frustrate their hosts and hit on the break, and for much of the match their plan worked.

The decisive moment came in the second half when Zimbru finally broke the deadlock with a well-crafted goal. Vulturii Cutezatori pushed forward in search of an equaliser but were met by a resilient home defence that refused to buckle. The final whistle sparked celebrations for Zimbru, while the visitors were left to rue their missed chances.

Key Moments

• First-half stalemate: Zimbru dominated the ball but struggled to find a way through a packed Vulturii defence.
• A rare Vulturii chance: The visitors nearly took the lead against the run of play with a quick counter-attack.
• Decisive breakthrough: Zimbru scored the only goal of the game after the interval with a precise finish.
• Late pressure: Vulturii threw bodies forward in the final minutes, but Zimbru held on for a valuable clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Zimbru Chisinau B lined up in a patient 4-2-3-1, looking to pass their way through the opposition. Vulturii Cutezatori responded with a deep 5-3-2 formation, effectively creating a wall in front of their penalty area. The game became a test of Zimbru's creativity and patience, and for a long time it looked like the visitors might hold out for a draw.

The key tactical adjustment came when Zimbru switched to a more direct approach in the second half, using crosses and long shots to draw defenders out. That change created the space needed for the winning goal. Vulturii's defensive resolve finally cracked, and their attempts to chase the game left them vulnerable at the back.

Standout Players

The Zimbru goalkeeper was called into action twice in crucial moments and produced important saves to keep a clean sheet. The goalscorer deserved credit for a composed finish under pressure, while the centre-backs were solid throughout. For Vulturii Cutezatori, the goalkeeper was their best performer, making several stops to keep the score down, and their captain organised the defence admirably.

Season Impact

This 1-0 victory is a valuable one for Zimbru Chisinau B as they continue to develop young talent in the Moldovan Liga 1. The three points strengthen their position in the table and build momentum. For Vulturii Cutezatori, the narrow defeat is frustrating but their defensive performance suggests they can compete with the stronger sides in the division. Both teams will take confidence from different aspects of this match.
