Zimbru Chisinau 0-1 Dacia-Buiucani: Away Side Stun Zimbru in Moldovan Super Liga

Dacia-Buiucani secured a memorable 1-0 away victory over Zimbru Chisinau in the Moldovan Super Liga, producing a disciplined defensive performance and scoring the only goal of the game in the second half. The result is a significant one in the context of the season, handing Zimbru a frustrating home defeat and boosting Dacia-Buiucani's confidence.

Played on September 20, 2026, the match was a contrast in styles. Zimbru Chisinau enjoyed the majority of possession and created more chances, but Dacia-Buiucani defended with intelligence, rode their luck at times, and took the one clear opportunity that came their way.

Match Overview

Zimbru started the match on the front foot, moving the ball quickly and looking to stretch Dacia-Buiucani's back line. The hosts' wingers were heavily involved, and their central midfielders pushed high to support attacks. Despite their dominance, Zimbru struggled to find a way through a crowded penalty area.

Dacia-Buiucani's defensive plan was simple but effective: stay compact, delay Zimbru's attacks, and look for set pieces or counterattacks. Their goalkeeper was called into action several times in the first half, making a particularly good save from a close-range header.

The decisive moment came in the 61st minute. After winning a free kick on the right side, Dacia-Buiucani delivered a dangerous ball into the box. It was only half-cleared, and a Dacia midfielder reacted quickest, firing a low shot through a crowd of players and into the net. Zimbru's goalkeeper was unsighted and could not react in time.

Zimbru pushed hard for an equalizer in the final 25 minutes, throwing bodies forward and forcing a series of corners. Dacia-Buiucani defended with desperation and organization, blocking shots and clearing crosses. The final whistle sparked wild celebrations from the visitors.

Key Moments

• 9th minute: Zimbru's first chance, a header from a corner that was saved low at the near post.
• 34th minute: Dacia-Buiucani's goalkeeper makes a brilliant fingertip save to deny a curling effort.
• 61st minute: The only goal, scored from the edge of the box after a partially cleared free kick.
• 78th minute: Zimbru hit the crossbar with a powerful header from six yards.
• 90+4 minutes: A last-ditch block from a Dacia defender preserves the clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Zimbru Chisinau's approach was based on possession and patient build-up. They tried to draw Dacia-Buiucani out of their defensive shape, but the visitors refused to be pulled apart. Zimbru's best moments came from crosses and set pieces, yet they lacked the final touch in front of goal.

Dacia-Buiucani executed a low-block strategy almost perfectly. Their midfielders stayed narrow, forcing Zimbru wide, and their center-backs dealt with aerial balls confidently. When they won possession, they looked to move the ball forward quickly, and the winning goal came from precisely that kind of transition.

Standout Players

Dacia-Buiucani's goalkeeper was the hero of the night, making three important saves and commanding her area under heavy pressure. The goalscorer showed excellent anticipation to react first to the loose ball, while the center-back pairing produced a heroic defensive display.

For Zimbru Chisinau, the midfield playmaker was their most creative outlet, repeatedly finding space and delivering dangerous balls into the box. The striker worked hard but was well marshalled by Dacia's defense. It was simply one of those evenings where the ball would not go in.

What the Result Means

The win is a major boost for Dacia-Buiucani, who prove they can compete with one of the established sides in the Moldovan Super Liga. Taking three points away from Zimbru Chisinau is no small feat, and the manner of the victory — resilient, organized, and clinical — will give the squad real belief.

Zimbru Chisinau will be frustrated by their lack of cutting edge. They controlled large parts of the match but failed to convert territorial dominance into goals. In a league where every point matters, this is a result they will want to quickly put behind them.
