FC Milsami and Zimbru Chisinau played out a 1-1 draw in the Moldovan Super Liga on 18 October 2026, with neither side able to find a winner in a tightly contested match at the Complexul Sportiv Raional Orhei.

The result reflects the balance between two teams with European ambitions and a strong understanding of each other’s strengths. Milsami enjoyed the better of the first half, while Zimbru responded with a more controlled second-half display. In the end, a share of the points felt like a fair outcome.

Match overview

Milsami started with purpose and were rewarded in the 34th minute when their pressure paid off with a well-taken opening goal. The hosts continued to press for a second before half-time but could not find the finishing touch. Zimbru regrouped during the interval and equalised in the 67th minute, capitalising on a period of sustained possession. Both sides pushed for a winner in the final 20 minutes, but the goalkeepers and some resolute defending kept the score level.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Milsami’s first clear chance came from a corner, but the header went wide.
• 34th minute: Milsami took the lead with a composed finish after a quick exchange on the edge of the box.
• 52nd minute: Zimbru began the second half strongly, forcing two saves from the Milsami goalkeeper.
• 67th minute: Zimbru equalised with a low strike from the edge of the area after a patient build-up.
• 81st minute: Milsami hit the side netting as they searched for a late winner.
• 90th minute: Zimbru cleared a dangerous free kick to secure the draw.

Tactical story

Milsami’s approach was built on quick combinations in central areas and overlapping runs from full-back. They found joy in the first half by pressing Zimbru’s deep midfield, but their intensity dropped after the break. Zimbru adjusted by pushing their wingers higher and stretching the play, which created space for their equaliser.

The final stages were cautious. Both teams seemed aware of the importance of avoiding defeat, and the midfield became congested. Milsami’s late set pieces posed a threat, but Zimbru’s defensive organisation held firm.

Standout players

Milsami’s goalscorer was their most dangerous outlet, linking play and finding pockets of space. Their goalkeeper also made important saves in the second half. Zimbru’s midfield anchor grew into the game and helped his side control possession after the interval, while their equaliser came from a player who had been probing all evening.

Season impact

In the Moldovan Super Liga standings, the draw keeps both clubs in the chase for European qualification places, though it does little to close the gap on the league’s leading sides. Milsami will feel they let two points slip after a strong first half, while Zimbru will take encouragement from their second-half response. With the season still shaping up, every point in these direct clashes could prove valuable.
