FC Milsami 3-3 FC Politehnica Chisinau produced one of the most dramatic draws of the Moldovan Super Liga season on 11 October 2026, with the visitors snatching a stoppage-time equaliser at the Raional Sports Complex in Orhei after a six-goal thriller that swung one way and then the other.

Match Overview

Played under the lights with a 20:00 kick-off, the fixture pitted Milsami's patient possession game against Politehnica Chisinau's aggressive mid-block, and the contrast produced an open, breathless contest. Milsami twice built two-goal cushions in terms of momentum, only for the Chișinău side to claw their way back through set-pieces and late pressure.

The result keeps both clubs in the crowded middle pack of the Super Liga table, where a handful of points separate European playoff hopefuls from the relegation playoff places. For Milsami, dropping two points at home is a frustration; for Politehnica, the point is a statement of resilience.

Key Moments

• 12' – 1-0 Milsami: Vasile Dumbravă rose highest at the near post to glance in a whipped corner from the left.
• 27' – 1-1: Ion Cebotaru converted calmly from the penalty spot after a handball shout was upheld.
• 41' – 2-1 Milsami: Cristian Nica curled a low effort inside the far post following a quick turnover in midfield.
• 58' – 2-2: Andrei Rusu pounced on a loose ball inside the box after a scramble from a free-kick.
• 74' – 3-2 Milsami: Substitute Mihai Căruntu finished a slick three-pass counter-attack with his first touch.
• 90+3' – 3-3: Dorin Gheorghiev bundled home from close range to silence the home crowd.

Tactical Story

Milsami lined up in a 4-2-3-1 designed to overload the left channel, with the full-back pushing high and the winger drifting inside to create room for late runners. It worked for much of the first hour: Milsami's best passages came when they switched play quickly and attacked the back post, which is exactly how the opening goal arrived.

Politehnica's response was to compress the middle and force Milsami wide, accepting crosses in exchange for control of second balls. That plan paid off after the break. Their two second-half goals both stemmed from sustained pressure on the edge of the box rather than intricate build-up, a reminder that this side is at its most dangerous when the game becomes scrappy.

The substitution that nearly decided the match was Milsami's introduction of fresh legs on the hour, which restored their counter-attacking threat and produced the third goal. But the home side dropped too deep in the closing ten minutes, inviting exactly the kind of siege that ended with Gheorghiev's equaliser.

Standout Players

Dumbravă was Milsami's most influential figure, combining his defensive duties with a genuine goal threat from set-pieces. Nica's movement between the lines caused persistent problems, while Căruntu's cameo showed why he is pushing for a starting role.

For Politehnica, Cebotaru dictated tempo and never stopped demanding the ball, and Gheorghiev's willingness to attack the six-yard box was rewarded with the game's final, decisive touch.

Season Impact

Draws like this tend to define mid-table campaigns in the Moldovan Super Liga. Milsami will look back on a missed opportunity to build a run of home wins, while Politehnica take genuine momentum into their next fixture, having shown they can compete away from home against sides with European ambitions. Both teams remain tightly bunched in the standings, and the head-to-head record between them could matter enormously when the split arrives later in the season.
