FK Sutjeska Nikšić produced a dominant home display in the Montenegro First League, brushing aside Bokelj Kotor 4-0 with a performance built on early pressure, midfield control, and clinical finishing. The Nikšić side scored twice in each half and never allowed Bokelj to settle, turning the match into a one-sided contest well before the final whistle.

Match overview: Sutjeska take control early

Sutjeska started with intent, pressing Bokelj’s defenders and forcing turnovers in dangerous areas. The opening goal arrived in the 11th minute when Nikola Vuković met a low cross from the right and guided the ball into the far corner. Bokelj’s response was limited to hopeful long balls, and Sutjeska’s back line comfortably dealt with the aerial threat.

The home side doubled their advantage in the 37th minute through Vuković again. This time, a quick exchange on the edge of the box opened space for a shot that took a slight deflection on its way past the goalkeeper. Bokelj’s frustration grew after the break, and a red card for a second bookable offence in the 52nd minute left them with an even harder task.

Key moments and turning points

• 11’ — Nikola Vuković opens the scoring: A sharp move down the right ended with a composed finish at the back post.
• 37’ — Vuković doubles the lead: Sutjeska’s pressing forced a loose ball, and the striker made no mistake from the edge of the area.
• 52’ — Bokelj reduced to ten men: A second yellow card left the visitors with a mountain to climb.
• 58’ — Marko Ćetković makes it three: A well-worked corner routine ended with a header from six yards.
• 79’ — Luka Radović completes the scoring: The substitute finished a fast counter-attack with a low shot across goal.

The red card removed any realistic hope of a Bokelj comeback. Sutjeska used the extra space intelligently, switching play from side to side and drawing the visitors out of their defensive block. The third goal from a set piece reflected their dominance in the air, while the fourth highlighted the speed of their transitions.

Tactical story: width, pressing, and set-piece strength

Sutjeska’s 4-3-3 shape created consistent overloads in wide areas. The full-backs pushed high, the wingers stayed wide, and the midfield trio controlled the second balls. Bokelj tried to defend in a narrow 4-4-2 block, but they were repeatedly pulled apart by Sutjeska’s quick switches of play.

Without the ball, Sutjeska pressed with discipline. The front three curved their runs to block central passing lanes, forcing Bokelj into wide areas where the home side could trap them against the touchline. That aggressive approach produced the turnovers that led to the first two goals and set the platform for a comfortable second half.

Standout players and league impact

Nikola Vuković was the clear standout, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligent movement. Marko Ćetković controlled the tempo in midfield and delivered the corner that produced the third goal. Goalkeeper Đorđe Perović kept a clean sheet and dealt confidently with Bokelj’s few crosses into the box.

The 4-0 victory gives FK Sutjeska Nikšić a significant boost in the Montenegro First League standings and reinforces their reputation as one of the division’s strongest home teams. Bokelj Kotor will need to regroup quickly after a heavy defeat, particularly with the defensive discipline and away form that will be required in their next fixtures.
