USFAS Women kicked off their Mali Cup campaign in emphatic style, cruising to a 2‑0 victory over Amazones C5 Women on 28 June 2026. The home side dominated proceedings from the outset, showcasing superior composure and clinical finishing to secure a comfortable passage into the next round. The win sends a clear message that USFAS Women are serious contenders for the cup title this season.

Match Overview

Playing in familiar surroundings, USFAS Women imposed themselves immediately, pressing high and forcing early turnovers. Amazones C5 Women struggled to cope with the intensity and were pinned back inside their own half for long periods. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when a well‑worked corner routine led to a close‑range finish, giving the hosts a deserved lead. The goal lifted the home side’s confidence, and they continued to create chances, doubling their advantage just before the interval. A swift counter‑attack caught the Amazones backline out of position, and the USFAS striker coolly slotted home to make it 2‑0.

Second Half Control

The second half saw USFAS Women manage the game expertly, controlling possession and denying Amazones C5 any clear path back into the contest. The visitors showed fighting spirit but lacked the creativity to break down a disciplined home defense. USFAS nearly added a third late on, hitting the crossbar from a long‑range effort. However, two goals proved more than enough as the referee’s final whistle confirmed a clean sheet and a professional performance.
