Acambaro FC produced a devastating 6-0 away victory over Leones Negros FC in the MEX Liga Premier Serie on 18 October 2026, delivering one of the most one-sided scorelines of the round at the Estadio Jalisco. The visitors were ruthless from the opening whistle, scoring three times before half-time and adding three more after the break.

Match overview

Leones Negros FC entered the match hoping to use home advantage and control possession, but Acambaro FC had other ideas. The visitors pressed aggressively, won the ball high and attacked with direct purpose. Inside the first ten minutes, the pattern of the game was set: Acambaro moved forward in numbers and forced Leones Negros into repeated defensive errors.

The second half brought no relief for the home side. Acambaro remained hungry, keeping their shape and exploiting the spaces that opened as Leones Negros pushed forward in search of a consolation goal. The final scoreline reflected the visitors’ superiority in both penalty areas.

Key moments

• 7th minute: Acambaro took the lead when Diego Martínez finished a low cross from the right after a high turnover.
• 23rd minute: Omar Reyes doubled the advantage with a curling effort from the edge of the box.
• 41st minute: Martínez scored his second after a quick counter-attack split the Leones Negros defence.
• 55th minute: Reyes grabbed his second with a close-range finish following a corner.
• 68th minute: Martínez completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after a foul inside the area.
• 84th minute: Acambaro captain Marco Arenas added a sixth with a late penalty, capping a dominant team performance.

Tactical story

Acambaro’s 4-3-3 was built for aggression. Their front three pressed the Leones Negros centre-backs, cutting off short passing lanes and forcing long balls. When those long balls were recovered, Acambaro’s midfield moved the ball forward quickly, often finding Martínez between the lines or Reyes in space on the flank.

Leones Negros tried to play out from the back, but the constant pressure led to turnovers in dangerous areas. As the game slipped away, the home side became more open, which only made Acambaro’s counter-attacks more effective. The visitors managed the game well after half-time, slowing the tempo when needed before striking again.

Standout performers

Diego Martínez was the headline act with a well-taken hat-trick. His movement in the box was excellent, and his finishing was composed throughout. Omar Reyes was equally influential, scoring twice and providing constant width on the wing.

Acambaro’s midfield deserves credit for winning the battle in the centre of the pitch. Their pressing and quick distribution gave the forwards a steady supply of chances. Captain Marco Arenas led by example, and the defence kept a clean sheet despite a few nervy moments late in the match.

Season impact

The emphatic win strengthens Acambaro’s position in the Liga Premier Serie and sends a warning to their promotion rivals. A 6-0 away victory is the kind of result that can transform a season, boosting confidence and goal difference in equal measure.

For Leones Negros FC, the defeat is a heavy setback that will require a swift response. The club must regroup defensively and rediscover the composure needed to compete in a demanding league. Acambaro, meanwhile, will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture as they continue their push up the table.
