Querétaro Women 0-1 Atlas Women — Atlas Women secured a valuable 1-0 away win over Querétaro Women in Liga MX Femenil on 27 September 2026, with a single second-half goal deciding a tightly contested fixture at the Estadio Corregidora.

It was a result that underlined Atlas's credentials as one of the more organised sides in the division, and one that leaves Querétaro Women reflecting on a night when they created chances but could not find a finishing touch.

Match Overview

The first half was an even contest. Querétaro looked to build patiently from the back and get their wide players into crossing positions, while Atlas pressed aggressively in midfield and looked to spring quick counter-attacks. Both goalkeepers were called into action before the break, with a sharp low save from the Atlas keeper the pick of the bunch.

The decisive moment arrived in the 67th minute. A well-worked move down the right ended with a cut-back into the penalty area, and Daniela Ríos guided the ball past the goalkeeper to hand the visitors the lead.

Key Moments

• 23' — Querétaro threaten: A header from a corner is tipped over the crossbar.
• 41' — Atlas counter: A rapid break ends with a shot deflected wide.
• 67' — The winner: Daniela Ríos finishes a flowing move to make it 1-0 to Atlas.
• 79' — Querétaro push: A shot from the edge of the area clips the outside of the post.
• 90+4' — Last chance: A dangerous free-kick is gathered safely as Atlas close out the win.

Tactical Story

Atlas's defensive structure was the foundation of the result. Their back line stayed compact, forcing Querétaro into wide areas, and their midfield screened the space in front of the defence effectively. Querétaro had possession for long spells, particularly after going behind, but struggled to find gaps in a well-organised block.

The visitors' willingness to commit numbers forward on the counter produced the game's only goal, and their game management in the final fifteen minutes — slowing the game down, winning fouls, and clearing their lines — was textbook.

Standout Players

Ríos took her goal clinically and was Atlas's most dangerous outlet throughout. The Atlas goalkeeper was equally important, producing two key saves to preserve the clean sheet. For Querétaro, the midfield duo who kept the ball moving and the winger who struck the post were the bright spots on a frustrating evening.

What It Means for the Table

Three points on the road in Liga MX Femenil are always precious, and this win keeps Atlas moving in the right direction in the standings while extending a solid defensive run. Querétaro Women remain competitive in mid-table and showed enough in possession to suggest better results are close, but converting territory into goals is the challenge that will define their season. The two clubs will meet again later in the campaign, and on this evidence that rematch should be just as tight.
