Toluca Women produced one of their most complete away performances of the Apertura 2026 season, dismantling Club Necaxa Women 4-0 at the Estadio Victoria in Aguascalientes. The visitors were sharper from the first whistle, ruthless in front of goal, and never allowed the hosts to settle into the match, turning a potentially awkward road trip into a comfortable three points.

A Dominant Night from Start to Finish

Necaxa came into the fixture hoping to use home advantage to climb away from the lower reaches of the Liga MX Femenil table, but the game was effectively decided inside the opening half hour. Toluca pressed high, won the ball back quickly in the attacking third, and punished every loose pass the Necaxa midfield offered up. By the time the half-time whistle blew, the scoreline already reflected the gulf in efficiency between the two sides.

The second half brought no real change in the pattern. Necaxa saw more of the ball in midfield, but most of their possession was sterile — long spells of sideways passing that never troubled the Toluca goalkeeper. When the visitors broke forward, they looked capable of scoring every single time.

Key Moments

The opening goal arrived after a sustained period of Toluca pressure, with the Necaxa defence failing to clear a whipped cross from the right. The ball fell kindly inside the penalty area and was swept home from close range to silence the home support and set the tone for the evening.

The second goal came from a turnover in midfield. Toluca's forward line pounced on a misplaced pass, drove at a backpedalling defence, and finished low into the bottom corner. It was a goal that underlined the difference in transition speed between the two teams.

Just before the break, a third arrived from a set piece, with the Necaxa marking picked apart at the near post. That goal effectively ended the contest as a competitive fixture and sent the hosts into the dressing room facing a long second half.

The fourth and final goal came late in the second period, a reward for Toluca's persistence. A substitute broke in behind the tiring Necaxa back line and calmly rounded the goalkeeper before rolling the ball into an empty net, capping a ruthless away display.

Tactical Story: Pressing and Transitions

Toluca set up in a compact mid-block that shifted aggressively to a high press whenever Necaxa played the ball into wide areas. The tactic worked perfectly. Necaxa's full-backs were constantly forced into hurried passes, and Toluca's midfielders were quick to step in and turn defence into attack within two or three touches.

In possession, Toluca favoured quick switches of play and direct runs in behind. They did not need long, patient build-up sequences — the front line was happy to attack early and often, and Necaxa's centre-backs struggled badly with the movement of the runners across them.

Necaxa, by contrast, lacked a clear attacking plan. Their build-up was slow, their wingers were isolated, and their striker received almost no service in dangerous areas. When they did carve out half-chances, the finishing was rushed and off target.

Standout Performers

• Toluca's forward line: Relentless in pressing and clinical in the box, the attacking unit created chances at will and converted four of them.
• Toluca's midfield: Controlled the tempo, won the second balls, and repeatedly sprung counters with sharp vertical passes.
• Necaxa's goalkeeper: Despite conceding four, she made several saves that prevented an even heavier defeat.
• Necaxa's captain: One of the few home players who kept battling, dropping deep to demand the ball when the game was already gone.

What It Means for the Table

The win strengthens Toluca's position in the upper half of the Liga MX Femenil Apertura 2026 standings and keeps them firmly in the conversation for a top-four finish and a favourable Liguilla seeding. Their goal difference also took a useful boost, which could prove decisive when the playoff places are settled in November.

For Necaxa, the defeat leaves them searching for consistency and points. Home form is traditionally the foundation of a survival push in Liga MX Femenil, and dropping all three points so heavily at the Estadio Victoria will hurt. The coaching staff will be concerned above all by the ease with which their defensive structure was pulled apart.
